Torn on resorts...help!

I vote for WL and get bunk beds. The boys will love it, the 4 year old can sleep on the bottom

My vote is for CR it is really convenient and I love the rooms!!! Some people complain about the lack of Disney Theme at CR but all you have to do is look out the window if you get a Theme Park view and voila :thumbsup2 Enjoy your stay :cool1:

Given that you can afford to stay at the Contemporary, I would suggest you stay there. You can stroll to and from the Magic Kingdom, which can be a lifesaver during the busy times of the day. You can also get to Epcot via Monorail and the baby can stay in the stroller.

I cannot stress enough how frustrating it can be to try and hold a baby, fold down a stroller, hold all the kid "stuff" and then get onto a bus.

With Wilderness Lodge you can ride one of the two boats to the Magic Kingdom without folding up the stroller.

In each case, the resort is all under one roof. You can grab a meal, head to the shop to pick up a missing item, or see the front desk without heading outside into the elements. It is pretty easy to send one parent down to pick up a meal for everyone.

I love the look of CSR, but it is so spread out that you can find yourself a fifteen minute walk from being able to refill your mug, buy an asprin, or talk to an actual human who works at your resort. You take buses to everything and if I were in your shoes and was going to stay Moderate, I would pick Port Orleans French Quarter hands down! They are a much smaller and more compact resort and should have all Queen beds by the time you are there.

Thank you so much for all of your great advice. I think we now have it narrowed down to WL or CSR. Some have said the convention people are overwhelming at CSR and it doesn't have much of a family feel. Have you found this to be the case? We don't necessarily NEED to save the money. We just want a FANTASTIC experience.

We really think AKL is cool, but don't know that just the animals are worth all of the other issues: too far, too cramped, etc. And we think CR is just too modern for a Disney trip with kids.

OP, I would go with WL. It is probably our favorite resort, out of the ten Disney resorts we have stayed at and we can't wait to go back. I think your kids will love it. Everything is under one roof. We had a wonderful time there. You walk in the lobby and it's like... WOW!

We have stayed at both, CSR and WL. CSR is very pretty with an awesome pool, but imo, I would never choose it over WL. I dunno, WL felt like home. CSR was a lovely resort, but I didn't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about it. It has it's good points, but WL is just special to many.

We also stayed at BLT on a cash reservation. It was modern and there was lots of concrete and you had to do your eating and shopping at CR, but it was wonderful. Truth is, I don't like the looks of CR. All that concrete, it's ugly, imo, but I would stay at BLT in a heartbeat for the incredible perk of walking to MK. That was fabulous! I didn't even miss seeing lush grounds, which is important to me, because of the MK perk.

But I still think WL might be the best choice for your family. There was nothing quite like getting off the bus with everyone else at the end of the day, passing the bell, passing the totem pole, *sniff sniff*... we loved it! :cloud9:
