Top Three Bottom of the Pit Restraunts

The San Angel. I live in Texas. This place is just... no.

Captain Jack's. Talk about underwhelming. If it were ever to become a pirate's character meal, maybe. Then again, maybe not.

The last one is a tie between ABC Commissary and the food court at Pop Century. Both get the same reaction from me - 'blah.' At least at the Pop you can get fruit and cereal, so I guess maybe the ABC Commissary gets the third slot.

1. Ohana - bad service and food the past 2 trips.
2. Hollywood and Vine - was good the first time but last year not nearly as good and has gone up a lot in $$ too.
3. ABC Commissary - AWFUL - why they can't do better with the food I have no idea, surely Disney must actually try to make it this bad!

My 3:

Coral Reef. Awful food, the worst service we've ever had ANYWHERE.

CRT. Awful food. Spent $200 for breakfast which I'm pretty sure was microwavable food from the local Costco. Bad server too...huge disappointment.

San Angel. Food was less than okay and service was just so-so.

May I ask why you do not like Biergarten? Only asking because for my family Biergarten is a must do, we eat there every trip. Thanks

Biergarten is a must for us too, we have never been disappointed, sometimes service might drag but food turns over at a good clip, so it is always fresh.:cutie:

TUTTO JUST PLAIN OL BLAND,if u are into bland food this is a Must do!I am not sayN it is BAD,just Bland& I do not,can not& will not do BLAND!

There are in my opinion very few restaurants at Disney World that are great, but very few are horrible. Certainly bad service can ruin a meal and that will vary from situation to situation.

But we have found most to have good to very good food and usually decent service. Meals at Disney World are more about the experience and less about the food.

I can't look!! If I see my places on too many lists I am going to freak out and start canceling and changing reservations again!! :surfweb: I have lost count of my bookings and cancellations.

I don't worry too much. I like to hear everyone's opinions, but it never deters me from trying a place. You have to read carefully into WHY the places get a bad review.

Something like "food was awful" means nothing to me. I don't like Chinese food. So if I went to the Nine Dragons, I would tell you I am not going back. Why? Because I PERSONALLY don't like a specific kind of food/cuisineHence the reason I have never booked. I love Japanese food. So when I like Teppan Edo it doesn't make it good or bad, just a personal preference.

Reviews are so subjective. I would only start to worry if reviews were consistently bad for the same reasons. For example, if it were rude wait staff (I have never had this at Disney by the way), or cleanliness issues.

The primary basis for complaints about restaurants, especially in Disney where there is so much hype and build up way before the 180 day mark, is that people were expecting something different. It is quite easy to work up your anticipation to an unrealistic level only to be disappointed. And let's face it, at Disney everything feels extreme. The good feels great and the "bad" feels impossible to deal with sometimes.

I plan on a few places that have had less than spectacular reviews because I either tried them and like them, or the menu seems to appeal to me and I want to give it a shot. Likewise, some top pics don't appeal to me at all. Le Cellier - not interested. So that's one less person you all have to fight for ADRS there! :rotfl2:

Rainforest cafe... $14.99 for a burger and the fries are extra. Kids meals- milk is extra and no free refills. Totally not worth it.

Went to the Sci-Fi Drive Inn in 1998 and haven't been back since- maybe it is better now.

We are one of the rare families that didn't like Crystal Palace- too chaotic. I was waiting for food and missed characters. I like how they do Donald's at AK- seat the room, everyone gets food, then they send all the characters in at once, then you can get more food.

1. ABC Commissary

2. Pop Food Court

3. Chef Mickey's

The only one that was actually gross was ABC. Pop wasn't gross necessarily, just worse than school cafeteria. Chef Mickey's was just bland. We left hungry.

ahh don't cancel :/ I really like that restraunt. It was on my top list lol. My sister agrees with me. Ultimately it is up to you, but I would decide for yourself because I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.
Magical Wishes:wizard:

I agree...We really are not too impressed by the food at san angel inn....and say we wont go again...yet year after year we book it...i think it is because it is a beautiful setting, by the water with the sky overhead....its about the atmosphere, as most of disnye is...and thats why we re book it year after year...even tho the food is nothing special...We always plan to have had too many frozen margaritas to care about the food anyway! haha:cool1:

dont cancel...just experience!

WCC is the only one I've had that I wouldn't go back to. We all had the skillet, and it just tasted like cheap BBQ, like fast food.

1...espn club...horrible service and the food was worse than the service.

2. lecellier... over rated. go to shula's.

3. biergarten...wasn't impressed with food.

WOW!! I am canceling San Angel Inn. Way too many negative reviews ....:scared1:
Before you cancel any meals, remember that these are opinions. Remember that people usually have crazy high expectations for Disney. Remember that sometimes people create problems that might or might not really be there. I've eaten at San Angel Inn 4 times and never had a bad meal. It's not the best meal I've ever had but I thought it was well worth the money. Don't let negative people turn you away from thing you want to try.

I can only think of 2

1 - Sci Fi - Food was not good and I can't handle not being able to see my meal at all.

2 - Chef Mickeys - the character interaction was great but the food wasn't that good. We've been once and so we never have to go back again.

ABC Comm-food was so bad we actually couldn't eat it.

50's Primetime-food was not that great and lunch took 3 1/2 hours.

Big River Grille-food was just not good and we were excited to eat there. Beer was good though. I think I would only go back for the beer.

1. Mama Melrose (have given it 2 chances over the years) terrible food. Tomato sauce was brown and gross, terribly slow service, disappointing. :(
2. Chef Mickeys-food was below average, way to loud- not fun for the kids like other character meals we have experienced.
3. Sci Fi-just didn't enjoy our meal here. :(

Please remember that just because someone has a bad meal at a restaurant does not make them negative people. The title of this thread is bottom 3 restaurants which is essentially asking which places were the worst in "their" opinions. Just by viewing this thread people have to expect that a restaurant they may plan to visit may be listed as someone's worst. Doesn't make it a bad restaurant, just means that particular guest did not enjoy their dining experience there. That is true of anywhere.

I have had 2 horrific meals at Mama Melrose after 2 tries over the course of a few years. Did I have crazy high expectations? Nope. I just don't enjoy slow service and dark brown tomato sauce. Have I learned my lesson? Yes, I will never eat there again and have no problem saying so. Does that make me a negative person? No, it didn't ruin my trip having a poor meal there. Now I know to skip MM when I go to WDW.

The only thing I have sworn to never go back to is the Tomorrowland Noodle Station. Have also been avoiding Akershus since it went all princess all the time, but that has nothing to do with the food.

I also do not plan to cancel any meals based on anything I read on this thread. Happens all the time, some people post bad reviews and others immediately cancel their reservations. If you haven't been there, and the menu looks good to you, try it for yourself.

The food was cold and some of it looked dried up. In all fairness I will admit it was late, and it really isn't our kind of food. We were supposed to go to the luau but it was cancelled because of weather and the Beirgarten was all we could get.
