Sometimes you have to wonder who out there is listening...

Saturday night, my mom and I were sitting and chatting about the way Disney World used to be. I believe these were the exact words that came out of my mouth, "I miss the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was my favorite parade ever! Remember how I had the 45 with the music from it and played it all the time? It's at California Adventures, but I need it to come back to the Magic Kingdom so I can see it again."

I. Am. Not. Kidding. I just said that five days ago. Five days ago.

This may even warrant the purchase of park hoppers so I can head to the Magic Kingdom every night. I can almost hear the music playing!!!

That is so awesome!!! I missed it when it left CA - I have a VHS tape of it - they brought it back a couple of years ago! So fun! I'm glad your kids will get to see it!

So correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the electical parade similar to the spectromagic? I have never seen that parade before but comparing to the pictures on the blog- it looks kind of like spectromagic! Either way, I'm excited- I hope it stays for a long time because I love the nighttime parades with all the pretty lights!

No kidding! What should I ask for next from Disney?

1) glad the Princess Di exhibit was great! The dress would have been just amazing to see...do you do if that is a traveling thing and possibly heading north?

2) that is so cool about the MSEP! Spectromagic is like my ultimate thing to do each trip...it would be so cool to see the parade that started it all!

From what I can tell, the Diana exhibit is a traveling one. I am not sure where it is headed next, but if it does end up in your neck of the woods, I highly recommend it.

I am beside myself about the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade. I have always enjoyed Spectro, but it has never had the same resonance with me that MSEP does -- nostalgia and sentimental value and all that.

We conferenced Tuesday night until 8:00. Today is our last day, too, before our four-day break -- somehow after finding out Happydog is at the World, my weekend of movie watching and organizing doesn't sound as fun. Really, I am looking forward to having time off -- this week has been grueling.

How cool! That was my favorite as a kid too.

I hope they have the CD of the music for sale in the Magic Kingdom so I can get it. I think it would be a nice addition to our car music.

That's so cool! Would it run when Spectro was scheduled? I hope it's going when we're there at the end of July!

I guess they are planning on doing it on the same schedule as Spectro. Not really sure. I am excited to see what the other offerings are for Summer Nightastic that they were talking about in the blog.

Did you see where they mentioned they are going to have special summer fireworks as well? So excited!!!

We saw this the summer of 2008 @ California Adventure, and they did indeed still have the float of Alice on her mushroom! We loved the parade, I'm so happy for you that you get to see it again

Yeay!!! I am glad Alice is still around! Do you remember if Pete's Dragon was still in the parade? That was another one I loved. I wonder if they will add new floats besides the Tinkerbell one...

Oh how exciting! It is at DCA but only during holidays and peak season, not sure yet if it will be there during DCA food and wine so I'm super excited about this too!

It was one of my favorite things when I was growing up! I remember seeing it at both Disneyland and Disney World.

I am just so tickled that it's coming to the Magic Kingdom! Thankfully, it's perfect timing for our trip -- otherwise, I may have had to reschedule or plan another trip just to see it.

I love the Princess Diana exhibit!! How long will those things be displayed? I sure would like to go see it. I read one time that people (probably not people in the UK) always really liked Diana because she seemed like a regular person, but in fact her blood was as blue as Charles'. The fact that they had Spencer family jewels on display really attests to that fact!

That tiara is incredible. It's one thing to see them in a picture, but quite another to see those diamonds up close!

I love your souvenirs! I would really have to stick my pinky in the air when drinking from that mug!

i was so excited when i saw that on the blog yesterday! i do vaguely remember it from our trips when i was a kid. the only problem.....there is NO WAY i'll get to see it this summer. so i will have to live vicariously through you and my other disfriends who are going this summer. i expect lots of pictures!!! i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be insanely popular and that they will extend it for a couple of years so that i can see it. i think they should end up alternating nights between this and spectromagic. that way everyone's happy!

i'm also curious about the other nighttime additions, especially the tower of terror stuff. i bet that will be AWESOME!

Great updates!! I really want to see the Diana exhibit. It looks wonderful. I am always fascinated by jewels. I have been absent for a few days. My life has taken over my disboards time. I really want to see the MSEP, but I am leaving before June. We are thinking about getting APs with our GAD vouchers so maybe I can sneak a quick summer trip in.

The Diana exhibit pics were wonderful! I was also obsessed with her as a little girl. To me, she was the epitome of grace and beauty, and everything I wanted to be when I grew up.

I'm super excited about the Electrical Parade! I wonder how early is "early June"...we will be there 5/29-6/5, and I would LOVE to see it!

I saw that too about the MSEP. I wonder when "Summer" ends. I would love to see it again. We have the cassette tape of the music floating around somewhere. I used to love to listen to it, and I could remember the cues for certain floats by the changes in the music. I like the music a lot better than Spectro (cheesy as the MSEP music is!).

I was looking at the Diana exhibit pics too. That sounds like it was a great Mommy/Daughter day. I didn't remember her dress fabric being so thick. For some reason I thought it was more lacy. Still, very beautiful. She was a very elegant lady.
