Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Just noticed Jill's response. I guess the pack I picked up wasn't what you were talking about. I didn't really pay attention to what they were, so I assumed they were what you meant. If the right ones are there in July, we'll be glad to send you a pack for Chelsea.

They do have Silly Bandz down there they just aren't the Disney specific ones yet. It's okay you are old and not wise to the ways of Silly Bandz! :lmao:

hey! sorry i haven't been around much on here lately... don't you hate when life gets in the way?! ;)

i'm going back to catch myself up!

I've heard that resigned sigh before. I figured my kids learned it from me. I've heard it escape my lips a few times.

I always worry when we go on vacation up to the cottage or to a beach that I won't feel busy enough. Once I get my head around slowing down and trying to relax I'm usually okay. Hopefully you will be too. Just make sure you have some good books with you.

I think I'm caught up and i sense your apprehension about the beach vacation. I think you have to be in the right "mood" for a beach vacation. That being said, I think Disney HH is probably the best place to do the beach thing. I know that Vero had TONS of activities every day. Pool parties, all types of contests, nature walks, kayaking, wine tastings, arts & crafts. You can't possibly be bored. I can't sit on the beach much longer than an hour, so I would love all those added activities.

Congrats to almost being done school. I guess I shouldn't say this - but it feels like the year just flew by.

I had not heard about these bracelets until this board. The funny thing is that in last evening's newspaper was a lengthy article about the bracelets. The bands were made here in Ohio. :flower3:

Funny how coincidences like that happen!

Thank you, MeMom! That would be awesome! In the update I am about to post, you can see that Connor wore his -- I think Chelsea did, too, but I am not sure.

We'll forgive her. :goodvibes

Hi!!! Yes, life is crazy around here, too, and I am so ready for summer!

I know I have perfected the resigned sigh. Maybe it is a result of teaching. LOL! I think I am all set and ready to relax on a beach vacation now! :goodvibes

Happydog sent me some treats from her stay at the Disney HHI, and I am all set and ready for it now! I think we are going to have a blast!

It does feel like the year flew by! Now, if summer wants to slow down, that's just fine with me. ;)

Lots to update this weekend!!!

On Mother’s Day, my mom and dad gave me quite a treat!

It came in this pretty box. What could it be?

A Charleston Girl?
003-21.jpg

Nope. A Charleston Princess! (My mom bought a tiara for her!)

My mom comes up with the best gifts!

Today, with my parents, we headed to the Georgia State Farmers Market which is on the south side of Atlanta. It is a HUGE outdoor farmers’ market with all sorts of goodies to be found! On the drive down, I was telling everyone in the car that I had read you were expected to haggle over the prices. Connor was all about that and kept saying he planned to haggle.

There was even a gift shop!

My dad and Connor enjoying the seating area outside the Visitors’ Center.

Chelsea adding her own brand of posing to the picture.

Pretty flowers.

There were signs everywhere that said Do Not Feed the Cats, so the kids, of course, were on the lookout for these felines. We found one sleeping under a bush. He ran quickly away after the picture.

We strolled around all the stalls and loaded up on grapes, bananas, strawberries, apples, and Mexican soda.

Connor had spied a stall selling piñatas as we were looking for a parking space and for some reason, got it into his head that he wanted one. He was also determined to haggle the price down if he could.

Once we reached the stall, Connor very politely enquired what the prices were for the piñatas. The lady told him.

Connor: How much is the pink and blue one?
Seller: For you, it is eight dollars.
Connor: Okay, I’ll take it.

So much for haggling! When I asked him about it, Connor said it was because it was already a really good price. I had no idea he knew what the going prices on piñatas were.

Boy was Connor happy with his purchase!

Shopping bags bulging, we headed back to the car.
014-3.jpg

While I enjoyed seeing all the locally (and some not so locally) grown produce, I have to admit that I already have my two favorite Georgia grown items! (You can see that the pinata had to sneak into the picture.)

Already making himself at home.

When we got home, I cut up a bunch of the fruit and made a fruit salad for lunch, and when the mail came, I discovered another treat.

Right in time for our two-month mark, Happydog sent me Disney Hilton Head stuff. There are activity schedules, a directory of services, and menus for the counter service places. They have Mickey Waffles!!!!

You can be sure I will be using those to plan our trip! Thank you, Happydog!

The doll is beautiful. What a great Mother's Day gift.
I love Connor's haggling :rotfl:
The pinata is adorable. Is he going to fill it with candy?
Fruit salad for lunch sounds perfect! I love farmers markets. My favorite one is the one in New Orleans near Cafe du Monde. NYC farmers markets are uhmmm a bit too urban.

Oh great planning stuff! Yay for Mickey waffles. You're going to have a nice balance of beach and Disney. I can't wait to read about all of the things you plan and your trip.

Are you planning a Disney trip for summer 2011?

I really can't get over how much Chelsea has changed this past year. Connor has too but not as drastically I don't think.

Too cute about the haggling over a Pinata. I think $8 is a good price for a pinata too. :rotfl2:

Mickey Waffles! That is very exciting!

The doll is precious! What a beautiful gift.

Sounds like a fun day. That Connor and his haggling is so funny! Chelsea is cracking me up with the posing and the sunglasses. Reminds me a lot of Katie.

HEY!!!! I am here!!! How are you? I love that you are surprising Chelsea with a Disney trip! She is going to be thrilled. Looking forward to reading more! :)

Oh, and I cannot believe how big the kids are getting. So cute.

Love the doll and her flapper dress!! What a sweet gift! :goodvibes
Connor and his haggling!! :rotfl2: I suppose he could have researched the going prices of pinatas before you went....;)
Your picture of you walking towards your car had me :rotfl2: somehow I knew I would not be the only one laughing about the semi in the background...as I scrolled down I knew Shocker would comment :rotfl:

Love the "Charleston" doll made into a "Princess" ..... so thoughtful and perfect!
You should use it as your avatar pic.

I never knew about that market when I used to visit my SIL.
We always went to an indoor one...:confused3

It looks like a neat place!

I think the pinata was a great deal! :thumbsup2

I like Chelsea's cute purse. ;)

Very nice of happydog to send you the brochures, now you can do some planning! :goodvibes

Funny you want the summer to go by slowly, I want it to go by fast....the sooner I CAN GET TO WDW! LOL

The photo of the three from the back with Connor and his pinata is hysterical.

Ohh where did Chelsea get that purse? It is so cute! It's perfect for AK!
Looks like a fun day. Connor is too funny with his pinata.

What a fun day!!

I love open markets! YAY for such a great deal on the pinata! I believe Connor choose a good one!! Very very nice!!

Love the doll you received, simply stunning!!

Once again loved the pictures, your kids are just awesome!!

YAY for Disney Mail!! Always fun to get to help plan your trip!

Love your brochures from Happy Dog... I would love to see those too. I think being a Disney resort you will be busy... and HH has great things to do too and yummo eats!

That doll is so pretty. Your Mom does give really good gifts! The farmers market looked like fun. I love Chelsea's bag! I was cracking up over Connor's pinata! I love how he's got such a different outlook on things. :goodvibes
