Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

First off, great ADRs!
And the Princess Diana exhibit sounds amazing! I live in Atlanta so I might just have to make a trip to see it - thanks for posting about it :goodvibes

Very exciting! You're going to have a great time. I can't wait to see what little goodies you come home with.

I was 16 when Princess Diana got married and I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth out!!!

I had a small 2 babies when she died and it was Labor Day weekend and we were visiting friends in Florida. Funny how you remember things like that. I remember my parents talking about when Kennedy was shot.

At any rate, what a lovely thing to be able to take Chelsea to see. I think it is nice to share something you liked as a child with your child. That is part of the reason I love taking my kids to Disney.:lovestruc

What a fun time you will have:cool1:
I still remember where I was as I heard the news of the car accident--cleaning the mini blinds--something I now put off for as long as possible!!

I don't remember watching the wedding, but I remember hearing about it - I would have been 7.

However I do clearly remember the moment I heard of her death. Tim & I had been married less than a year and were living in CT at the time. We had gotten together with another couple that night. We were sitting around our dining room table playing cards and listening to the radio when the breaking news cut in to report about the accident. I think we all stayed up later than we would have that night just because we didn't want to turn off the radio.

I can't wait to hear about the exhibit!

Have you considered the white chocolate Cinderella slipper for Chelsea.... it was awesome and so pretty at the GF when we got one for Hannah....

Wow- what and exciting little trip you have planned! I love Chelsea's response  ...it's true though- this generation really has no clue about the royals. I remember growing up that they were always in the news. Princess Di was always up to something, then came Fergie. The original Fergie- haha, I just had a funny thought, if you asked Chelsea to go see a Fergie clothing exhibit she would think she was going to see hoochie mama skirts and low cut tops! :rotfl:

I remember the day she died- it really feels like yesterday- so sad :guilty:. I am sure this will be a very memorable experience for you and your family.Take lots of pics if you are allowed?

IMHO, the cakes look better than they taste! I'm always on the cake thread and most dissers tend to agree. Now the mini cake was very yummy!!!!!!! I think that the cakes that I buy here at home are better. Oh, I usually order my cakes two weeks in advance and I always follow-up!

Jackie, my birthday cake was made by the Baker's Man in Forsyth County. Yes, I drive an hour away to get delicious cakes!! This is a white chocolate cake with white chocalate filling and buttercream. Just look at the white chocolate curls!! Lol This cake wasn't over $100 and he handpainted the characters on a white chocolate mold!!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll pass on the cake. If I spend that much money it should at least taste good.:rotfl:

I'm really excited for you on the Princess Diana exhibit. I think it's going to be wonderful.

Yes, educate away with Chelsea! She must be informed so she can fully appreciate. At the very least she can appreciate her very nice looking sons. :rolleyes1 I'm still fascinated by who they will end up marrying themselves.

When Diana and Charles courted and married I was already a grown up..... but how I loved their story.
Since her accident the royals just haven't been quite as fascinating.
Maybe when William finally marries.

I know you are going to enjoy the exhibit, I sure would!:goodvibes

Hey Jackie,

your adrs sound lovely...:goodvibes

I haven't been to Tutto and think it sounds fab, I haven't been to Le Cellier and will probably never get in...:lmao:

Yak and Yeti were lots of fun-as was Prime Time...

Tea of course sounds divine...we'll be doing that as well...;)

So sorry about Chelsea and the Middle School Mean Madness...I do think 7th grade is the worse...Em is in 9th now and it has stabilized quite a bit...(but then the boy thing kind of picks up...;)

Ah...loved Princess Diana...:goodvibes...I think she definitely lives on in her sons...especially William...he looks just like her...

I can't wait to hear about your visit to the Princess Di exhibit. I hope you plan to take lots of photos.

The cake photos are wonderful. I have to upload and post a mini castle cake that I ordered. It was great.

and I even had Princess Diana paper dolls that I played with until they were worn along the edges.

As I grew older, I didn’t follow Princess Diana’s life quite as closely as I had as a child. However, I will never forget the moment when with a six-week-old Chelsea, I was visiting my parents, and my dad walked into the kitchen to tell us of the car accident. I was so very, very sad about it.

I had those paper dolls too...I remember watching the wedding to on tv...I was 8. And I also remember when she passed, we heard on the car radio we were out celebrating my b-day w/ friends.

The exhibit sounds wonderful! I remeber seeing a wonderful exhibit here in Chicago showcasing Jackie Kenendy...it was wonderul. I bet this will be too.

have fun!

Stardust

That sounds wonderful! I want to go! I am so infatuated with all things English. Take lots of pictures to share with all of us!

Oh, I was almost 13 when Princess Diana and Charles got married. My neighbor lady came over and she, my mom and I watched it at like 4 a.m.

When she died, DH and I had been married about 2 months and he was working evening hours. I was sitting on the couch glued to the news channels until about 2 a.m. So sad.
It would be really cool to see the exhibit!

All those cakes make me wish it was my birthday! And make me hungry!

I remember being absolutely transfixed by the wedding and in shock by her death. I'd love to see the exhibit too. But for now will look forward to a full report! I hope you can take pictures!

It's so neat that so many people remember when she got married and what they were doing when we got the news of her death.

I loved the fairy tale and it crushed me when she died. I really hope she was happy when she died. She seemed to go through so much pain and to be truly giving person. She was the only "real person" of all the royals.

I was visiting my half sister for the first time when she died. We had just met her for the first time that year.

I saw on Facebook that you are going to see this -- how awesome! I am so excited for you!
