Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

I kind of skimmed, so I have to ask, are you and Chelsea going to do a tea at the GF? I love tea and I really love pastries, so that will be a fun thing to read about!

I'm 99% sure that we're keeping our 1900 PF ADR for next month, and I'm SO excited that I'll finally be able to see the GF in person. It's going to be so exciting thinking of you guys staying there. :goodvibes

I am going to try and get a ressie for afternoon tea. I have always wanted to do it, and I think Chelsea will get a kick out of it.

Ah, thank you! I am over-the-top-excited about it everytime I think of it. It's going to be a dream come true for a couple of us.

How exciting!!! I'm sure your daughter is going to love the surprise!!!!

I got to stay at the Grand Floridian with my mom in 2004 for a few nights and it was great! Such a nice resort!

Thank you! It is beautiful. I have been lusting after it for many, many years.

I was born & raised here in NH but do NOT ski. The thought of going down a huge snow covered mountain on 2 slippery pieces of wood does not appeal to me:rotfl2: Both my DS's did learn to ski & snow board though from school. I did try cross country skiing once & the next day every muscle in my body (some I did not know I had) hurt so bad I never did that again. But I have many friends that ski but just not for me.

Yep, that's why I have no desire for anything even remotely resembling skiing. LOL!

Mother/daughter tea sounds so nice! Chelsea is going to love it.

The utility bills have to be in line with the housing costs here I guess. I'm ready to rub two sticks together to make a fire in my living room :lmao: My brother keeps trying to get me to move to MD and take a principal job :scared1:

I think it will be a nice thing to do one afternoon.

:lmao: about the two sticks to make a fire.

Teachers in Georgia get paid once a month??? :scared1: How does the teacher's union handle that?? I could not manage that. You must be excellent at making a budget :worship:
NYC public school teachers get paid twice a month. I work at a university lab school, so I get paid every 2 weeks.

You have to remember that our union only has so much clout -- it's not like the northern states, unfortunately. We also had furlough days this year which was not fun!

Once a month would be very difficult, I had a hard time going from every 2 weeks to twice a month. Of course now there's no rhyme or reason to it, thank goodness Jeff gets paid every 2 weeks!

We have learned to deal with it, but January really is the worst.

I agree about the housing costs, I was shocked not only with the utilities being so much higher than Chicago, so were the houses! I could have had a mansion back there for what I paid for my first house out here. I imagine it's leveled out some with things they way they are but it would seem if the value of all our houses have gone down, so should the utilities!

One can dream....

I have to say that housing prices in our area are wonderful! I can't complain about that.

They don't kick you out of the state if you don't ski? :rotfl: My two nieces adore it. The younger one (age 6) is a bit of a menace to the slopes. She has one speed, blistering fast. At nearly 40, I told them I was way too old to learn to ski no matter how much fun they tell me it is. :lmao: Going down the mountain in a tube is much more my speed.

I could maybe handle tubing. ;)

I wouldn't mind if they kicked me out & sent me to FL:rolleyes1

I can always tell when it is winter here because I always talk about wanting to move to Key West.

 We bought DVC in 2009, and we'll be taking our first trip "home" in December. Can't wait!

You were right about the "R" names for the Obamas:

President Barack Obama: Renegade

Michelle Obama: Renaissance

Malia Obama: Radiance

Sasha Obama: Rosebud

Wouldn't you love to be known as "Radiance"? I sure would!:cutie:

I knew I had read that somewhere! Radiance would be a great code name!

They took our Christmas pictures in the lobby and on the grounds. You can pretty much tell them where you want them. They are very flexible. My favorites were on the beach towards the Poly. We took some great ones in the hammocks.

Definitely putting this on my possibilities list!

I have seen and heard so many nice things about the GF Tea!!!! I am sure she will love that, "Tea" aside!! :) I know my boys totally dig the arcade! Maybe that is a good Charles and Connor plan ?? :confused3

Are ya going to wear hats??!! :goodvibes

Wouldn't hats be great???

Charles had mentioned taking Connor to the arcade -- both of my boys love their video games.

I think they should get tiaras! :thumbsup2

I have actually been looking at tiaras online. ;)

Daaahlink, tea with Moose sound goot!:thumbsup2

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I was eyeing that tea before our June trip but we ran out of spaces. You know you can get champage.:cloud9:

Ah, champagne while eating pastries. Does it get any better?

Stay safe Miss Natasha Princess! I keep hoping we'll get enough snow for a snow day, but our Superintendant will only cancel if there is a blizzard on top of a foot of ice.:sad2:

Hopefully we are all finished with snow days. I know I don't need anymore.

I remember those ads!

Hmm, that looks a little too much like a roller coaster as far as I am concerned.

That's what Brooklynn look like after 10 days of the Pop kiddie pool!

My kids, too, after a summer at the pool. Right now we are all just pasty white and wishing it was warm enough to get a tan.

Hey Natasha,

I was just over on Scrappie's PTR and saw that your ADRs are 4 days away...

Hmmm....are we going to get a peek at what you're going for or are we going to have to be patient and see when you make them...?:confused3 or are you still trying to decide yourself?;)

Hi, Crepes! I don't think I will be previewing the ADRs -- have to create suspense somehow. ;) I think I know what I want, but I will have to get that all squared away before Tuesday morning.

Wow!!! ADR day already?? Coming up? YAY!!! SO how are you going to do that? Are you calling first thing before school? Can't wait to hear your plans!!!! :yay:

Hi, Happydog! I can't believe it is almost time to make ADRs! Tuesday should be interesting since I have to be at school by 7:30 for morning duty. Yick. So, I will be online making ressies at 6:00 and then will have to finish getting ready. During planning, I will call to make the afternoon tea ADR since I was playing around on the site, and I don't think I can make that one online.

nope, no vera today...I'm hoping for tomorrow

Jackie, I think you can make you online ressies a little earlier than 6 AM....right?

I have actually been looking at tiaras online. ;)

Do they make tiaras with moose antlers!

Cherie, I looked over on your thread and couldn't find the pattern of your Vera, can you please tell me?

that's a good question....I don't know....

it's pinwheel pink, I also bought one on ebay it's cupcake green..

I think High Tea is a great idea. I keep looking at it each time I go down.

A tiara with antlers. If you could find them anywhere it would be up north here. I'll keep a lookout. Who knows?

Wow, I cannot believe that photobucket would not allow a Coppertone ad!

It wasn't even a photo..... :confused3

These code names have me all confused... I was trying to figure out who Natasha is for the longest time! :rolleyes1 :confused3

Can't wait to see what ADRs you get! When I made our ADRs, I couldn't get on any earlier than 6am. But I would still give it a try - I have read that others have had luck.

In today's prissy world that Coppertone ad is considered kiddy porn. I'm not kidding, isn't that sad?
evergreen out

You have to remember that our union only has so much clout -- it's not like the northern states, unfortunately. We also had furlough days this year which was not fun!

If you ever move to NY, you'd get a job easily. Middle school teachers are hard to come by.

Does Chelsea know you're going to Disney at all? Or does she think you're staying at a different resort?

tea sound real nice...I try to do something special w/ my oldest DD each trip too (w/ 4 kids it's nice to find that special Mommy Magic there :goodvibes)

Can't wait to hear your ADR results..

I have to make mine too on a school morning :surfweb:

Stardust :tinker: (Crepes almost gave me away )

I really like both the cupcake pink and the cupcake green colors! So pretty!

I like the idea of having tea with just Chelsea. I think it will be a nice relaxing afternoon.

I will die laughing if you spot a tiara with antlers!

It wasn't even a photo..... :confused3

That's so bizarre!

These code names have me all confused... I was trying to figure out who Natasha is for the longest time! :rolleyes1 :confused3

:rotfl: You are too funny, Amy!

I made my list this morning of exactly what I want and what times I want -- I will be ready to go on Tuesday morning.

In today's prissy world that Coppertone ad is considered kiddy porn. I'm not kidding, isn't that sad?
evergreen out

It's a very sad comment on the state of the world these days.

If you ever move to NY, you'd get a job easily. Middle school teachers are hard to come by.

Does Chelsea know you're going to Disney at all? Or does she think you're staying at a different resort?

Middle school teachers seem to be few and far between -- I guess the kids can be demons at that age. I think I would freeze to death if I moved to New York!

Neither of the kids knows we are going to Disney yet. We will probably tell them at some point and just let them think we are staying at a different resort. Chelsea doesn't even think there is a possibility of the Grand this year since money has been tighter than in years past.

CP did you see this? It made me think of you.

How do you get your link to appear as a phrase instead of the link it self? Do you know what I mean?

So cool!!! Thanks for sharing!

When I link something I use the little world icon in the tool bar to paste the address. Then, I type a different name for it.

I agree that some Mommy Magic will be nice, and Connor will be getting some Daddy Magic so everyone will be happy.

I so wish I was making my ADRs on a weekend, but thank goodness for the online dining reservations now.
