TOP SECRET Ladies and gentlemens like the previous year MY FREE DINING NEWS

Thank you very much, I am new at this and we are taking our familiy's 1st trip so I am trying to make sure we have everything covered!!

I'm debating on upgrading to DxDP. Do I have to decide that day or can I upgrade later?

Im in Australia and we're actually attending a show the evening of July 12 (when the phone lines open in Orlando time). Do you think calling at 8 or 8:30am Orlando time (after the show is over) would be too late to get FD at POFQ? Argh!

I'm also interested in knowing how difficult it is to get FD at POFQ... We already have our standard view room booked at POFQ, but I know they only offer a set number of discounts per resort... POFQ being smaller, I don't want to miss out...

Ok, this may be a stupid question but I'm a newbie visiting Disney World for the first time in Nov. So, if I'm at Disney from the 19th through 23rd Nov-I'll be eligible for FD promo for all 4 days?

What are LM rooms?

Since you seem to definitely be in "the know", any inside knowledge on whether the military promotions will be extended after Sept 28 or aware of any new military promotions to start in Oct?

Thanks, Robin

Hello again my friends, for the second consecutive year I´m bringin the Free Dining offer news for this fall, and the best it´s that only in 10 days it will be out :cool1:
OK after all the negative comments about the credibility of my previous year announce and after the release in the exact day that I have predicted :goodvibes I hope that all of you are more confident this year.

These are the dates of the new offer that will be released in July 12

9/30 to 10/4

10/19 to 11/1

11/9 to 11/15

11/23 to 11/29

12/10 to 12/13

ONLY TO CLARIFY YOUR CHECK IN DATE MUST BE IN ONE OF THESE TIME FRAMES AND YOU WILL GET FD FOR YOUR ENTIRE STAY UP TO 14 DAYS OK?

All resorts will be included except the LM rooms at AOA.-

Like the last promotion quick service for values and standar dining plan for moderates and the luxes

Hope that these dates work well with your plans :goodvibes and knowing that this announce will bring happiness for a lot of families :yay: I send all of you a lot of Pixie dust.....

As long as you book your arrival date in the window your covered, in your case you would need to arrive on the 15 not the 19th to get FD...And LM is the Little Mermaid Rooms at AoA.. Art of Animation

Since LM isn't included we are probably going to switch to All Star Movies since DS LOVES Woody and Buzz so we can get the free dining. I am assuming Pop will fill up quickly for FD since it is next to AoA, but do I need to be on the phone at 7am for Movies? Will it be better to switch my reservation the day before FD goes public (I am holding onto LM in case a miracle occurs and we get a FD pin code in the next week!) to ASMo and then call back and add FD after it is announced or should I just wait to switch it after FD is announced? And are the Toy Story rooms preferred? I REALLY want to be in that section. How likely are we to get it (without paying for preferred) if we put in a request for it? We are going mid-October. Thanks!
In the past Pop and All-Star Movies are going to sell out of free dining rooms before any other resorts. Port Orleans Riverside tends to sell out of free dining rooms also. This may take days or it may take weeks, but those three resorts will have limited availability before the other resorts.

Toy Story is in the preferred section and you aren't going to stay there without paying the preferred price.

If you are going to have to call and add the free dining discount to your existing reservation, you might as well make all resort or any other changes when you call.

Port Orleans Riverside is what usually sells out first, due to the fact that's it's the only moderate that sleeps 5 and is always in high demand. If you are calling the day the FD code is released, then you should not have an issue adding the code at POFQ.

I'm sorry but your check in date does not fall within the projected free dining dates. You can not take advantage of the free dining plan at all with those dates. You would either have to check in by November 15 or November 23. Your travel dates fall in the middle of the black out dates.

I booked FD at POFQ last year. On the DIS, people were reporting being on hold for over an hour. I was able to just book it in seconds online. I'm trying to remember at what time the online reservations were open for FD, maybe after 9am CST??

Anyway, I went on to change my reservation like 3 times over the next couple of weeks and was still able to get FD at POFQ. I don't think you'll have a problem.

Good luck!!!

In years past this announcement wasn't made until nearly upon or even after the expiration date :sad2: It's a wait and see game... hopefully another discount will be in store :thumbsup2 We are playing it safe and trying to snag the deals we can and plan accordingly without factoring it in this time... you never know, they could always decide not to extend.

Nope, we aren't in a family suite, we are in LM room- but those rooms are not going to be included in FD, so we would pay full price to keep that room. I included what it would cost to upgrade to a suite.

We are 2 adults, 2 kids. 9 nights. 8 day base ticket. DDP.

Upgrade from QSDP to DD = $353 if we stay in a value. FD offer includes DDP for Mods and Deluxes.

Our current pkg @ AoA LM = $3447 (no discounts)
POFQ = $2997 (Free dining, DDP)

I'm confused here too... the uprades we are working end up nearly even with no discounts taking it to a Mod

2adults/2kids
AoA LM $2561 4 day base tickets with BDP (no discounts)
POP std = ~$1800 with no dining added + $235 to go from QS to BDP w FD = $2035
POR royal/garden = $2461 4 day base tickets BDP w FD

That being said I think we are going to opt for POR Royal Rooms anyhow... we had our hearts set on LM and want to stick with the princess theme princess:

There is a slight update today on the Armed Forces Salute Discount: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/

Basically, the old offer will end. Steve seems hopeful there will be something to replace it. Fingers crossed!:thumbsup2

I believe you can pay the difference between QS and regular DDP and still stay at Sports.

That's what we're doing w/POP, it'll still be cheaper than upgrading to POR.

I had a pin for QS Dining when I called yesterday. I changed my split stay to all 7 days at Pop. The upgrade from QS to REG DDP was just about $10 per day per person. Great deal! Much cheaper than changing to moderate resort just to get Reg Dining. However there are just two of us this trip so about $140 to upgrade for 7 days!

Something is off in your math. Upgrading from QS to retular DDP is around $16 per adult.

That's what I was thinking as well. It would be way more than they figured.

I figured it at about $232 for the two of us to upgrade from QS to reg dining for8 nights. (But if it's closer to $16 it would be $256.)

I was hoping someone could help a newbie to make sure I'm looking at this correctly.

There will be 6 of us total 4 adults/ 2 kids (ages 3&4). We are staying 12/8-12/15. My father who will be one of the six is also retired military and we are also FL residents & have AAA. We are currently booked at AoA in a Nemo Suite.

The way I'm figuring it, the best deal for us is to stay in the suite, upgrade from QS to DP ($505.82 for all 6 of us) and get the two day tickets (so that we will qualify for the FD) the remaining tickets we will purchase thru the military (and hope they renew the great ticket deal). I come up with $3766.16 w/out including the extra park tickets.

I come up over 4K if I tried to do 2 mod rooms the same way.

What a bummer that Disney blacks out those two October weeks. Our dates are unchangeable so we're stuck. Oh well! Maybe we'll get lucky with a room only discount. ;)

did you calculate it buying all six two-day tickets? everyone in the room needs to buy these.
