TOP SECRET Ladies and gentlemens like the previous year MY FREE DINING NEWS

;)
We are in same boat. Booked LM room, and as I said in PP, changed dates from 11/3-10 to 11/1-10 in anticipation of FD based on the PIN offers being indicative of general public offer.

I ran some preliminary #s, and here is what I am coming up with:
(We are currently booked 9 nights in a LM room w/ DD & 9 day base ticket)

Switching to family suite @ AoA(and then paying to upgrade from QD to DD)= ADD $928
Switching to 2 connecting rooms @ POP (again pay to upgrade plan)= SAVE $273
Switching to ASMu Family Suite (again pay to upgrade dining) = ADD $430
Switching to CBR PIRATE ROOM= SAVE $146
Switching to POFQ or POR= SAVE $450
Switching to CSR= SAVE $399

We are super excited to stay at AoA, and specifically the LM rooms, but I can not justifying paying MORE for ONE value room than I would pay for 2 connecting rooms, or a mod (Especially since we are also doing a cruise directly from our WDW trip!)
Hi-I just"ran the numbers",and the Dining uprgade to regular dining from QS is $391 for us 10 nights,2 adults,2 children. It would cost us an additional $439 to switch from value to POFQ-so we still end up saving $400 staying value/upgrading QS;Costs us $830 to switch($3342-$2512).How are you SAVING by switching?:confused3 Switching from Family Suite! I get it now!!;)

Nope, we aren't in a family suite, we are in LM room- but those rooms are not going to be included in FD, so we would pay full price to keep that room. I included what it would cost to upgrade to a suite.

We are 2 adults, 2 kids. 9 nights. 8 day base ticket. DDP.

Upgrade from QSDP to DD = $353 if we stay in a value. FD offer includes DDP for Mods and Deluxes.

Our current pkg @ AoA LM = $3447 (no discounts)
POFQ = $2997 (Free dining, DDP)

I am just going in doing our dates (11/1-10), picking POFQ, adding 8 day base ticket, and NOT adding in any dining (since it will be FREE DD). Is that what you are doing?

No,I was doing it for 11/9-11/19 with 10 day base-gonna try again with 1 less nite, and 2 less ticket days;really don't NEED the extra days.Thanks!:thumbsup2

Just a fyi for all those pricing things out. This past FD alot the moderates didn't have standard rooms available. POR amd POFQ only had garden views for most dates and that brings up the cost about 100.00 for 10 nights. So you may want a back up just in case.

I am just so excited about this news, I can hardly wait for next Thursday!! I'm getting up at 6:00 am having coffee and dialing at 6:59 am!!! :cheer2:

If you already have your stay booked/paid for - is there any reason that Disney wouldn't honor the FD promotion well you call up? Thanks!

We did the split room one year. When we checked in they stated that they could not promise that we would have the same room the next day. We had to go back to guest services and check out and re- check in. We were able to stay in the same room.
Thank you ;)

Heather

Disney will credit you the monetary difference to your balance when you call and ask to have the FD code applied to your current reservation. If you are paid in full they will still refund you the difference, but it is not an immediate refund, it usually takes 2 billing cycles, which is about 2 months.

Oops I should have mentioned we don't currently have the dining plan on our stay (just the basic MYW package)! Does that make a difference? Thank you!

No, that does not make a difference. In that case, no monetary refund would be necessary, they would simply add the free dining plan to your existing reservation and your dining credits would be available on your Key To the World Card when you check in.

Does anyone possibly know if Fort Wilderness campsites are ever included in free dining? We recently purchased a camper and would love to make another trip this year. We maxed our budget on 10 nights at Boardwalk for our honeymoon in May :lmao:

Any experience with the campsites/free dining?

Danny - not sure where you're getting your information, but you just earned yourself big ol' brownie points with a bunch of people here for kindly sharing this with us. You could have kept it to yourself, but your generosity is really appreciated. Whether you're wrong or right (and by all accounts, seems you're spot-on!), I just want to thank you for your kindness.

We've always missed promotions and have paid rack rates, and were afraid we'd miss it again this year. Our travel dates fall within the times you posted. The savings will be most appreciated and you totally made our family's day / week / year / vacation!

Thanks again! Congrats to all who got a smidge of pixie dust!

Since LM isn't included we are probably going to switch to All Star Movies since DS LOVES Woody and Buzz so we can get the free dining. I am assuming Pop will fill up quickly for FD since it is next to AoA, but do I need to be on the phone at 7am for Movies? Will it be better to switch my reservation the day before FD goes public (I am holding onto LM in case a miracle occurs and we get a FD pin code in the next week!) to ASMo and then call back and add FD after it is announced or should I just wait to switch it after FD is announced? And are the Toy Story rooms preferred? I REALLY want to be in that section. How likely are we to get it (without paying for preferred) if we put in a request for it? We are going mid-October. Thanks!

Im in Australia and we're actually attending a show the evening of July 12 (when the phone lines open in Orlando time). Do you think calling at 8 or 8:30am Orlando time (after the show is over) would be too late to get FD at POFQ? Argh!

I'm sorry if I missed this somewhere, but we have a Disney Visa and I believe I read that we could book on July 10th? If this is so, do I just call the normal number at Disney and let them know we have a Disney Visa card? Again, if this has already been answered I'm sorry to repost! Thank you for any help you guys can give me!

That part is just speculation at this point. Sometimes DV offers the sale a couple of days early. The boards should know that day, so keep your eyes pealed.
