TOP SECRET Ladies and gentlemens like the previous year MY FREE DINING NEWS

I want to TRIPLE check that FW will not be excluded (I had a CM tell me in 2009 that that was the last time FW will be included). We are staying 8 nights at the FW Cabins

Does the stay have to be for a certain number of days to qualify, or just be within the dates. Also, do you have to buy a whole package with tickets or just the room?

I'm planning a trip for October, I'll be arriving on OCt 20th. I would like to get FD, but I was wondering if I should wait until July 12th or if I should make my reservation now and ask them to add it later.

Can they easily do that? Will I be risking not getting the dates I need if I wait? Meaning, I wont get FD and my dates won't be available either because people will book quickly once FD is available?

I'm afraid of having trouble adding the FD later and also afraid to not get the dates I want. I'm staying 14 days and I already bought the plane tickets so I don't have a lot of flexibility.

This post made my day. We had booked a LK suite at AOA and a LM room at AOA for our group of 9. We needed to either switch to 2 suites or pay full dining for some of the group. With the cost difference it made sense to just do the 2 suites. We are very excited!

sorry if this is a dumb question or has been answered before but, if I am staying from 11/29-12/8 will I get free dining for the whole trip since the free dining period is between 11/23-11/29. Seems weird that all i need to do is check in on the last day of the promotion and I will get free dining for the whole time. Any help is appreciated!

Yes. As long as you check I during the FD dates, you will get FD for the duration of the trip, up to 14 days

No, unfortunately, your trip falls within the blacked out dates. Your check-in date must fall within the free dining dates to apply it to your trip.

You have to be booked under a Magic Your Way package that includes room, tickets and dining and with all of the free dining promotions in the past they required a 3 night minimum and a 2 day base ticket.

Does the number of free dining meals go by how many nights you booked a room? Or by how many days you have a park ticket. for example if i book a 9 night stay but only get a 7 day park ticket (gonna go to universal the other 2 days) will i get 9 days of dining or just 7 days?

It doesn'et really matter. It might save you a few minutes on the phone when you call to have the FD coded added to your reservation, but if you are planning on calling first thing, when the codes come out, it's not going to matter if you make your resort reservation now or wait until then. The important thing is to make sure you have all of or Advance Dining Reservations made already. If you are going in October, your ADR window has been open for at least 2 1/2 months. All of the popular character meals and restaurants may already have limited availability, and will most certainly fill up when FD is released for the general public next week. You don't have to have resort reservations to make ADRs, so I would be concentrating on that now, if you have not done so already.

By the number of nights.

The dining plan credits are based on the number of nights you stay at your resort and have nothing to do with the number of days on your tickets.

The FW cabins have always been included in all FD promos. It's the FW campsites that are not included.

Thank you, Brave! I'll wait for it to become available then. I'd rather do the whole thing online since I don't live in the US so it would be easier to wait for it to be available on Disney's website and do it from there, if it makes no difference like you said.

I'm going to stay at a value resort, so no ADRs for me (not with FD anyway). I'm not really interested in Character meals or msot TS restaurants anyway. I might pick one or two if it's available but it's not that important to me so I'm going to wait a little longer. Thank you for the reminder though :goodvibes

We are planning a trip 11/4-11/9. Based on OP our last day will be first day of FD - will we be able to get free dining for trip? Thanks

Unfortunately, the answer is no. FD is based solely on your checkin date. Since your checkin date is not included in the promo, you will not he able to get FD.

Can someone please verify my understanding of free dining is correct? So we if check in on December 13, free dining will be continued through the rest of our trip?

Thanks!:santa:

Thanks Danny!! I remember last year and you were spot on ;) I did my first girls only trip last year during November and really appreciated the heads up. The phone lines that opening day were not fun however!! :rotfl:

My DH and I have been throwing around a quick trip since we have free flights on SWA due to our Rapid Rewards and my DS has Veterans day out of school. I was looking at 11/8-11/12 so we would need to do a room only the first night in order to make it work.

Just curious for those that have done a split stay (can't remember the answer to this) do you find out you're keeping the same room when you first check in or when you come back the next morning to re-check in? It would surely be nice to know ahead of time so we wouldn't completely unpack that one night - just curious :thumbsup2

Thanks again Danny and everyone that has shared valuable tips!

Heather
