TOP SECRET Ladies and gentlemens like the previous year MY FREE DINING NEWS

finally hung up. called back and said new reservation. got through in 3 minutes!
DONE!
saved a little over $700!
was able to add free dinning to my in laws ressie at the same time!

oh and we now have a $0.00 balance
WOO HOO!!!!!

I called the main line on my house phone and got through in less than 2 minutes, while my cell was still holding after 82 minutes. :rolleyes2

However, we are now all set and even added one more night for a savings of over $650. When I did a rough calculation of what we would spend paying OOP, it comes to $870. Woohoo! Our first free dining trip is Nov 25th-Dec 3rd at Caribbean Beach!

Good luck to the rest of you!!!

Regards,
C.

Ok called back on my cell and got thru in 6 minutes. House phone still on hold for over an hour.

I am doing the same thing, I was on hold for an hour and half with the modify reservation so I hung up and I am trying new reservation right now.

I called right at 7:00, while on hold I used the link in this thread to book online. I was all set to book Pop and getting ready to enter my CC# when a cm picked up, I waited about 15 min. She compared moderate full dining with prices of value paying to upgrade to FD. For $200 11/28-12/4, more we could do POR garden view so I decided to go for it. Hope we made a good choice. Good luck everyone!:banana::banana:

if you do a new reservation on the website with the free dining plan and then cancel your old existing reservation what happens to your dining reservations you made under the old confirmation #? I am considering just booking a new reservation with the deal and cancelling the old one later but don't want to risk losing my dining reservations I have under the old confirmation #.

I got it!!!! Question though. 8 nights 1 child 5 adults is 2182.00. With free dining it only took off 1500. I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth I am just wondering if free dining 'costs' less than if I was paying for it. KWIM

I am hoping someone can help with my dilemma! Here goes:

Currently, we have a room at POFQ for 12/19-12/22. We are paying for the dining plan and 2 days of park tickets. Our total is $1746.70

With the FD offer, we would switch our dates to 12/10-12/15 at POFQ. Because this gives us 2 extra nights, we would add 1 more day at the parks, so we would buy 3 day tickets. The price for this is $2025.20

That is a difference of $278 and some change and here are my choices:

A.) Go with plan B....it's a much better deal. You get to stay longer, visit an extra park and only pay $278 more.

B.) Stick to the original plan. This would occur after our 3-nt Disney cruise.

C.) Go during the FD offer, but only stay for 3 nights and visit 2 parks as the original plan included, just with different dates. This would cost $1349.80, which is a substantial savings.

This is our first trip (family of 4 with two boys--ages 6 and 8 at the time). Is it worth it to pay almost $300 more to visit 1 more park and stay an extra 2 nights?

Has anyone had any luck getting a standard room at POR for the last week of October? I've been on hold forever, but they aren't showing any availability under the FD promo online anyway. I wasn't able to get it at 7 am on the first day of the Visa FD either. :worried: I took the garden view but would really like to save that extra money.

*near tears* have been on hold for an hour...fought with a CM for an hour...had to change my resort...been told i had blackout dates s couldn't get free dining and NOW she wants to charge me FULL price for dining.

Update...Oh glory me...her response ma'am your saving $200 that seems like a savings to me!!

Booked 12/13 - 12/21 at Pop! Have already convinced my husband to take of the 13th so we can leave bright and early instead of that night after work/school. Now debating adding on another night on the end of the trip!

Can you have 2 bookings at the same time? If I book free dining online but all ready have regular reservation will it let me do both? holding 1 hour now.

I got frustrated, and that is what I did. I had not problems having 2 reservations booked at the same time. As soon as I had it booked online, though, I an agent answered. He canceled my old reservation for me.

I was live chatting with an agent online and he told me not to book an additional reservation online. I should wait for an agent on the phone to do the reservation cancellation and switch for me. He said that sometimes when you have 2 reservations for the same dates the system will automatically cancel one of them. So beware! Just relaying what I was told. Wouldn't want any of you to lose the free dining reservation!! After 90 min. on hold I was able to get what we wanted. Hang in there!:)

Ok, I'm convinced....

Thank you Danny25 :worship:

You are now my hero!!! I will forever boast of your knowledge!!!!

Before 7:00 a.m. (EST) I posted that the people at work think that I am certifiable for taking a vacation day and getting up at 5:30 my time to try to get a discount. If I told them that I have been holding now for 1 hr and 15 min. they would be bringing me the straight jacket and putting me in a rubber room.

They just don't understand
No - they don't! We DO!! :rotfl: You are perfectly fine and I hope it all works out for you :)

Enjoy your day off,
Heather

Have gone through 1 CM and 2 Supervisors....have pretty much lost out on AoA (even though thats where i originally booked in April) because the original cast member refused to let me even have free dining, then needed to reboot her system, then said AoA didnt qualify....oh lordy me...its been a big mess!!! :furious::furious::furious:

Take what you have right now. Take a deep breath. In a couple of days, call back. Say "I have free dining at XYZ resort, but was wondering about the possibility of changing to AoA suites?" If they have availability, they'll switch you. If they don't, they don't. [Only the suites would be on the free dining sale.]
If they don't, you can keep checking back, if it's really important to you.
