Top Chef Chicago (Spoiler Thread)

I just got to watch last night's show. Richard was right, "congratulations on your bronze. Yay!" That one line made the show.

Where was the QF done? It looked like the bar on the top of the El San Juan, but not from the view. Anyone know where that was held?

Well, while we wait for the end of the show (and to make SURE, for a change, that I stay awake until the end!), I just wanted to note that I'm a bit disappointed in this season as a whole. Season Three contestants moved around a LOT more. These people have been to Chicago; back home; and now Puerto Rico. That's it. Bo-ring. Last season, with eliminations like the Lufthansa challenge, was much more fun!

And if "she" wins, I swear - I mean vow - never to watch Season Four again! :teeth:

I swear, Lisa was a plant by the producers to just cause trouble, for ratings. It's so obvious she should not be in the finals. :sad2: How did they just describe her food: pedestrian! :p

YAY!!! My oldest daughter and I were literally holding our breath. We were so worried that nasty cow Lisa would win just because she made a nice soup and an "interesting" rice pudding. WHEW! Stephanie was our favorite all along, so I'm definitely happy. Would have been okay with Richard too. Really it was anybody BUT Lisa for me! I was so bummed the season Ilan won (although I would have cried if it was Marcel), and I was afraid this was going to be even worse!

::yes::
My favorite challenge last season was the French Culinary Institute one.

Oh, and Yay for the winner!:goodvibes

Not so much a plant, necessarily (I don't know the laws, if any, regarding reality show competitions) but certainly INCREDIBLY lucky. "Not being the worst" in any challenge does NOT make you a good chef. I still feel if Dale hadn't won the coin toss in Restaurant Wars, and instead Lisa had been their teams Executive Chef, she would have been packing her knives that week.

I was so happy she won!!!! Yay finally a female winner!!!!!

OMG DH and I got sooooooooooo scared that Lisa might come back and win it right at the end.

I love Richard but I was really underwhelmed by him. I got so tired of the banana scallops by the end of the season. He did them 3 times.

We were very happy that Stephanie won!

I was soooo HAPPY when Ilan won!!! :cool1:

Big bold spicy sweet salty personality? Gee, she forgot to throw 'humble' in there...

You forgot sour - after she said that one, I turned to DH and said "salty, sour, salty, sour - this dish will reflect my personality."

I knew Richard was not going to win b/c he got the car last week. Despite her horrible attitude, Lisa did bring her A-game to the final EC and it looked like she made some good dishes. Richard appeared to be over-thinking it all. DH was waivering with his winner guess during the final JT - he thought Lisa might win out over Stephanie. I just knew after Steph's only "eh" course was the dessert.
I think Gail of the Cleavage really wanted Greasa Lisa to win it all. I think Tom wanted anyone but Lisa to win and was kind of miffed that Richard whiffed it.

I was very surprised Lisa attempted something with rice again. Even more surprised it came out well this time.

Very happy Stephanie won and she probably would've no matter what but Richard threw himself under the bus by saying he choked. I guess he knew he didn't do well and they weren't feeling his dishes by their comments but IDK, I think he could've come up with something positive to say if only about the entire experience.

Did I miss it or did Lisa congratulate Stephanie? I didn't see or hear it and I figured she would make a show of it after her little fit last week.

I was soooo HAPPY when Ilan won!!! :cool1:

I thought both Ilan and Marcel were not as good chefs as Sam and Elia, so I was going to be disappointed no matter which one of those wastes of space took the prize in S2.

Well, if nothing else, Lisa proved that she can sometimes make rice. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm so glad that Stephanie won!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Richard showed such class last night. He knew that he didn't prepare a "dream meal of a lifetime" and he owned up to it. I don't recall anyone ever doing that before... especially in the finals.

That quail dish of Stephanie's looked like something I'd like to try... and the lamb dish looked superb!

Not much longer to Project Runway...
