Top 7 Restaurants...I have NO IDEA!

Keeping the 6 year old in mind, since we also have a 6 year old DS:

1. Ohana
2. Boma
3. Biergarten
4. Chef Mickeys (breakfast)
5. T-Rex
6. Whispering Canyon Cafe
7. Coral Reef

If you were recommending 7 TS meals to someone who has never visited Disney (one 6 year old Boy), what would you recommend?

First, I would for sure point them to allearsnet.com to get the menus!

Then I would share my choices...

1. Flying Fish (2 TS on DP)
2. California Grill (2 TS on DP)
3. Chef Mickeys for the boy!
4. Sci Fi Cafe
5. Raglan Road
6. Boma
7. O'hana

The choices change (except for top 2) for with adults.

Based on having a 6 y.o. in the group:

Chef Mickeys
Cape May Cafe (bfast or dinner)
Crystal Palace
O'hana
Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare
Whispering Canyon

Also, the Garden grove is a great restaurant. It is located at the Dolphin, it is a buffet and has characters at night. it is usually so empty/quiet that the kids get a lot of interaction time with the characters!

LeCellier dinner
Cape May breakfast
Ohana dinner
Tusker House breakfast
1900 Park Faire dinner
Crystal Palace breakfast
Boma

Based on my three kids' preferences (ages 5, 9, 14), here's my Top 7:

Sci-Fi
50s
Chef Mickey's
Cinderella's Royal Table
HDDR
Whispering Canyon Cafe
'Ohana

Great thread!

1. Boma
2. Ohana
3. Tony's Town Square
4. Kona Cafe
5. The Turf Club (at Saratoga Springs Resort)
6. California Grill
7. Brown Derby

Since there's a 6 year old boy in your party:

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
'Ohana
Whispering Canyon Cafe
50's Prime Time Cafe
Hoop Dee Doo Revue
T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe

I would make different selections with older kids/adults only. Also, I would add CRT if your boy would like "attention" from the princesses (oh, what a handsome prince you are!) and likes knights and swords, the castle is all decked out with that stuff. My DS loved CRT at ages 5 and 8, wasn't too excited to go back after that.

WHISPERING CANYON!!!!!!! We just came back and my 6 and 8 yr old boys had a blast there. Also try the Prime Time Cafe. Good luck and let us know what you picked.

Teppan Edo
Le Cellier
Crystal Palace - Breakfast or Dinner
50's Prime Time
Ohana's
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Yak & Yeti

1. Whispering Canyon
2. Ohana
3. Rose and Crown
4. Plaza
5. Kona Cafe
6. Yak n Yeti
7. Sci Fi Dine In

1. Whispering Canyon
2. Ohana Dinner
3. Rose and Crown
4. Plaza Lunch
5. Boma
6. Sci Fi Diner
7. Kona

1. Le Cellier
2. Teppan Edo
3. Rose and Crown
4. Biergarten
5. Tusker House Breakfast
6. Portabello
7. Fultons Crab House

Those are my top 7 overall. I would add Hoop De Doo, Mikeys BBQ, CM, and T-Rex with a young boy.

Our top 7 would be:
Le Cellier, 'Ohana, Boma, Kona Cafe, Chefs de France, Raglan Road and Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

1. California Grill (always our final dinner ADR made late so we can see Wishes)
2. Flying Fish
3. Narcoosees
4. Bistro De Paris
5. O'Hana's
6. Le Cellier
7. Jiko

My DD, Isabelle will be 8 tomorrow and has been every year since she was 3 and a half. We always try to find a few new places, but I think these are some of our favs!

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Crystal Palace
Coral Reef
Sci-Fi
Le Cellier
Ohana
CRT (believe it or not my DH loves to have breakfast here! He brags about it everytime! We never use the DDP here, we pay OOP. The stuffed french toast is so yummy~!!!)

1) Cape May- for dinner
2) Hollywood Brown Derby- for lunch or dinner
3) Liberty Tree Tavern- for lunch
4) Captain's Grille- for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
5) Chefs de France- for lunch
6) Boma- super yummy
7) Beaches and Cream- love their shakes

Honorable Mentions
50's Prime Time Cafe- they have the best onion rings on the planet
Cosmic Rays- this isn't about the food, as it is the usual Disney fast food, but we love to sit outside overlooking the castle while we eat
Biergarten- food is good and we find the entertainment hysterical

These are all great suggestions, but keep in mind that if the family is within their 180 day ADR window, some of these top restaurants will already have no availability. There is a chart on page 436 of the 2010 Unofficial Guide showing which restaurants must be booked earlier than others.

These are great choices for families with kids, not necessarily the best food.

1. 'Ohana--activities for the kids while parents get to enjoy their meals! I've seen a lot of negative reviews about it lately, but we've had very positive experiences.
2. Chef Mickey's--even though service has been terrible for us lately, my kids still love it
3. Sci-Fi--Both my DS enjoy the cartoons while they eat--this is a better lunch spot than dinner, IMHO
4. Crystal Palace
5. Cape May Breakfast
6. 'Ohana Breakfast--my boys loved playing with Stitch
7. Teppan Edo--this one's a winner for the show AND the food
