Top 5 Places you SHOULDNT eat

Pecos Bills (like the topping bar and atmosphere, but the burgers and veggie burgers are like rubber)
Cosmic Rays (gross food and LOUD and CROWDED-tiny, dirty bathroom)
Electric Umbrella (gross food, ugly atmosphere, crowded)
Tony's Town Square (maybe for the soup and dessert, other food is nasty)
Liberty Inn (OK topping bar and atmosphere, gross food)

In no particular order:
(1) Planet Hollywood
(2) 50s PTC
(3) Pizza window at the Boardwalk/Spoodles
(4) Pizza Planet
(5) CRT Breakfast

Can anyone tell me where there is a GOOD Character Dinner?:confused3 You guys have shot down a couple of mine I have already booked, the main one Chef Mickey's. Can anyone give more information on the Sci-Fi and why you thought it wasn't great? Anyone know how the breakfast is at Whispering Canyon?. Have eaten dinner there but not breakfast
TIA

One thing to remember is that one person's bad experience might not be a bad experience for the next person.

There are several restaurants on people's lists here that we actually enjoy! For instance we've always had a good experiences at Crystal Palace and Garden Grille.

I say you go and experience it for yourself and then decide if you'd want to go back.

We have been to Chef Mickey's and actually really enjoyed it. My daughter was very ill that night but I don't think it was the food she was feeling poorly even before dinner. Sci-Fi will be our first visit.

I agree. Choose the places you want to go to and try them for yourself.

We love San Angel Inn and have multiple happy experiences there. San Angel is listed by many as a bad experience. We can't stand Crystal Palace (I have to admit we're giving it ONE more chance this fall). We tried it 3 times and it was bad bad bad but they were breakfast experiences. We're going to give dinner a shot.

Make your own opinions about the places YOU like. Don't let others scare you off.

I suggest you should not cancel any ressies just based on others' bad experiences...we LOVE Crystal Palace and the Garden Grille, both for the food & for the character experience. Loved them when our kids were little, and still love them now that the "baby" is 19 yrs. old. Always had excellent service, too. So, unless you know the bad reviews are written by people with exactly your same tastes & expectations...well...:thumbsup2

1. Biergarten - The worst tea, I have ever tasted. Everything smells bad, and I don't like sitting with strangers. When we got up to get food, the ladies at out table rearranged us so they could sit in the chairs they wanted. Weird???!!! Uncomfortable! My DH will kill me if I ever book this one again.

2. Planet Hollywood - I know it's not Disney, but just really bad service, too loud, and not great.

3. Boma - a little to far out and unrecognizable food for our picky family.

4. Big River Grille - Cramped, dirty, and just mediocre food.

5. Crystal Palace - I used to love this place, but in September, the food was really bad, dirty tables all around us, and only one character came to our table in an hour. Maybe a fluke, but I don't know.

We have only been to Disney 2 times and have only been to 8 or 9 TS places and probably about 10 CS places and the only place we will never go to again is Tony's Town Square. Our server was wonderful, but the food was horrible.

I agree with some of the PPs and would base my ADR decisions on this list or the best list. Each person is different and likes different things. We personally loved Prime Time, Garden Grill and some of the other places listed here.

not in any order
1.ABC Commissary- worse than a mcdonalds breakfast
2.San Angel Inn- beautiful inside, waitress was nice, the chips and salsa you get was the only edible thing I had.
3.Chef Mickey's- great charatcer interaction but thats about it
4.Planet Hollywood- I got suckered in because of a coupon, just bad
5.Liberty Tree Tavern- mac and cheese ok, the rest on all aspects "yuc"

- Cap'n Jacks - our bathroom is bigger than this places kitchen! High prices + nothing on the menu.
- DTD Rainforest Cafe - bad service, cheap food at a high price, and ants all over the food.
- Planet Hollywood - nothing but an 80s fad - bad service, bad food.
- Whispering Canyon - kids loved the atmosphere, but the food really did suck.
- Crystal Palace - breakfast was horrible the time we went.

Wow San Angel Inn is getting a lot of bad marks - have never ate there and was going to try it out this year, but not sure I want to now.

We haven't had a lot of bad meals at WDW (and we've eaten just about everywhere you can eat). Our bottom 5 - mostly due to quality of food for the price:

1) Big River Grill - probably the only place we'll never go back.
2) Yachtsman Steakhouse - marginal steaks for premium prices. You're better off a Shula's.
3) LeCellier - See above. It's Texas Roadhouse quality at Morton's prices.
4) Yak and Yeti - Good food, overly expensive for what you get
5) Most CS. Chicken fingers, burgers, hot dogs. Repeat 30 times.

Incidentally, we love R&C, but you do have to be a tad adventerous to enjoy it. The fruit and cheese tray isn't Velveeta with apples. It's more exotic cheese and fruit (figs, etc). We also love Chefs De France - the scallops are wonderful and we love the atmosphere - noisy and bustling. But we also love the Plaza at MK (great club) and the Grand Floridian Cafe - again, great food.

I think we've been to almost every place to eat in WDW and some were bad and some were GREAT. We have gone back to the bad ones and were pleasantly surprised. Sometimes it depends on the time of year you go to WDW I think. During the slower times the food tends to be, well. . :scared1: . But when the high season is in full effect, the service as well as the food is right on the mark. We've had our best dining experiences during the Food & Wine Festival and we all know how busy it is then. Sometimes we can tell if there has been a staff change the minute we enter the restaraunt. I guess it it just a hit or miss but I wish it was more consistant. You ARE paying each time, no matter what and everyone expects a decent meal regardless of season.

In no particular order:

1. Pecos Bills. Not a fan of CS meals anyway but these were the worst burgers we'd ever eaten.
2. Sci Fi. I'm not sure that turkey sandwich and fruit salad were supposed to be food. It certainly was not edible.
3. Rainforest Cafe. Just too chaotic. Besides, can eat at them in several cities.
4. Le Cellier. I know, I know. We pay OOP and it's just not that much more money to have really good food at the signatures.
5. Whispering Canyon. Let's forget that the atmosphere is a bit over the top, I just didn't think the food was worth traveling to WL for it.

So funny, how opinions differ. Pecos Bills is one of our favorite cs. And Le cellier and Whispering Canyon are two of our fave ts!

1. Planet Hollywood
2. Rain Forest Cafe
3. Mama Melrose
4. Old Country buff- Oops I mean Trails End
5. Pepper Market

3. The turkey leg place in the MK, the rest of my family loves the turkey legs I think they're disgusting! So, I just choose to get something else when they decide they want one.

DD's quote, "Um, Mom, since when is turkey PINK?"....:scared1:

I haven't tried anything at San Angel other than the Plato Mexicano (available at dinner only). I love it! We also love the atmosphere and try to plan our dinner around the time when the band is playing. We always do dinner because we know and like that dish.
