For the sake of time and our sanity we are considering only doing two or three character meals for our seven day trip. We would most likely rather do breakfasts so that we can get them out of the way first thing in the morning and get a head start on the parks which would give us more flexibility with the remainder of our days. What do you think the top three gender neutral character breakfasts are? My children will 2(DS), 4(DD), 9(DD), and 9 (DS) during our trip.

I would say Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House are gender neutral or serve both genders. But it's amazing how kids love character meals no matter what gender it's geared toward. DS6 loved CRT and Akershus.

another option is Cape May breakfast if you're going to Epcot that day...1900 Park Fare is sort of gender neutral (Mad Hatter & Alice)

I so agree with you and I'm disappointed in myself for not naming those restaurants considering we have breakfast reservations for both next month!

I really like what I've read about the Cape May Cafe breakfast. It seems like it is a laid back atmosphere and there is good character interaction. My only concern is getting there from AS Music. I wonder if there would be an Epcot bus running early enough to get us there for an 8:00 am breakfast and if the walk from Epcot to the Beach Club would be more than five minutes?

Secondly, does anyone have any thoughts on Crystal Palace? Is it worth it or should we just try to catch Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at AK or Epcot?

Tusker House is good and has the best breakfast buffet (in my opinion). Also The character breakfast at Ohana's at the Poly is good. Both my son and daughter loved both.
Even at the charcter meals with the princesses, though, everyone had a good time. My son (5 y/0) wore his Iron Man costume and the princesses at Akershus kept calling him "Muscles". He loved it. :rotfl:

Actually, you would want to take a HS bus. The buses start running at 6:30 for Resort Breakfasts. We stay at AKV and this was the concierge recommendation. The HS bus took us to HS, and then BWI, S&D, and finally BC for CMC breakfast. And you're so right, the atmosphere, character interaction, and the food is wonderful. Enjoy!

Cape May cafe, Tusker House, 'Ohana and Crystal Palace.

place my sons enjoyed the characters the most: 'Ohana
Place we think has the best food: Crystal Palace, followed closely by Cape May

Over the years I believe my sons always felt like 'Ohana was "their" breakfast, while their little sister had Akershus and Crystal Palace. Lilo and Stich and the whole Hawaiian theme was really cool for them.

I suggest Cape May Cafe at the BC (very good breakfast with Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in their beach attire), O'hana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto, or Chef Mickey's with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. Chef Mickey's is our least favorite of the three but it is very popular and has the fab five there. The first two, however, are very good, and is very fun with great character interaction.

Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Cape May, and Ohana, and Tusker House would be my bets.

Ohana is gender neutral...Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. We eat here every trip and the food is DELICIOUS:cool1:
I also love that it is served family style so no going back and forth to the buffet line....they just bring you all you want right to your table.

Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace would be my other 2 picks:thumbsup2

There's no one more gender neutral than my pal Al and he loves Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House.

Right now Crystal Palace breakfast is at the top of our list because we are all big Winnie the Pooh fans, it will allow us to be in MK early before it opens, and I have read a lot of good reviews about the food (good food is always a bonus :lmao: ). We are definitely not going to do more than three TS/character meals total so the next two choices for breakfast are Tusker House for our 2nd top choice and Hollywood & Vine for our 3rd top choice. We want to pick meals that will give us a mixture of characters; and for ease of getting around in the buses we want to stick with character meals located in the parks (although we will try to get to the Poly and AKL for counterservice, but that is depending on how the days go). Since I have read so many great things about the Garden Grill, we may have to consider dropping Hollywood & Vine for Garden Grill. The only reason we want to go to Hollywood & Vine is to see Handy Manny and especially to see Special Agent Oso; but Chip and Dale are at Garden Grill!! :headache: But since we can find Chip and Dale for meet and greets at AK, we may just go ahead and do Hollywood & Vine since they are restricting Special Agent Oso to that character meal and don't have him out for meet and greets (for now at least). So in summary, my top three are narrowed down to : Crystal Palace breakfast, Tusker House breakfast, and Hollywood & Vine breakfast. I know I may regret not doing Chef Mickey's because even though I have read it can be a hectic atmosphere and that the food isn't that great, it still seems like classic Disney magic, especially with its location in the CR. Oh well. :confused3
