Tooth Fairy in WDW??

So, we're counting down the days until our trip (leaving in 18 days) and my DD6 has a loose tooth. Based on its wiggly-ness factor, I'm predicting the tooth fairy will arrive in approx. 2-3 weeks...hmm...possibly in WDW! My DD's THRILLED about the possibility of losing her tooth in WDW! (this is her third tooth to fall out, so the novelty hasn't worn off yet)

Does anyone have any experience with the Tooth Fairy in WDW, and if so, what fun things did you do? Did you stick to your normal TF "routine"? Do the resorts have any special TF programs? I'm hoping to make it a little EXTRA special since it's WDW (and she knows WDW is full of magic) - maybe have Tinkerbelle leave something extra.

Just curious if anyone has some fun ideas! (I tried searching the boards, but I'm getting the error message this morning)

Thanks!! :wizard:

Awww :goodvibes I hope she does lose the tooth at WDW. She'll always remember that one.

I don't know if WDW does anything special about teeth. I would imagine lots of kids lose them while they are there. The Tooth Fairy will go anywhere to collect teeth, so tell your child not to worry. She even followed us out into the woods while we were camping and left a little pile of quarters under DDs sleeping bag. :thumbsup2

For some reason, my son doesn't get much notice before he loses his teeth (not much wiggliness). Last year, he unexpectedly lost his tooth on the monorail coming back from the MK last year. It was very late and all of the shops at resort were closed.

I stopped by the front desk to see if I could borrow scissors to make confetti (pixie dust). The CMs were so excited that they helped me cut up colored sheets of paper and even offered to give me Disney Dollars for him. I already had some Disney Dollars, so we left them under his pillow with all of the confetti. He was so excited when he woke up....he saved all of the confetti and still talks about it!

If you think your daughter might lose her tooth there, you may want to plan ahead and bring your own pixie dust, etc.,! I am sure she will be thrilled!!!

definitely use disney dollars or maybe even give her a trading pin from the tooth fairy.

Ohh! The Disney Dollars are a GREAT idea...we, I mean, the Tooth Fairy, usually leaves a dollar for each tooth (the value of a tooth sure has gone up since I was a kid), so that would be perfect. She loves Disney Dollars. And the confetti would be a big hit too! Thanks for sharing your ideas!!

Of course, with my luck, I'll get everything prepared and that darn tooth will fall out before we leave... :rotfl:

Ahh, yes...that's the beauty of the tooth fairy. She CAN go anywhere!! It must have been so challenging for the tooth fairy to get that pile of quarters delivered into a sleeping bag without waking her customer!!

One of my biggest fears if she ends up losing this tooth in WDW is interference from my DD2. They'll be sharing a bed and I can just see her waiting up for HOURS if she knows a tooth fairy is coming for her sister's tooth!! She doesn't like to miss out on any action! She's my devilish one!! :goodvibes

I don't know if they still do this, but we noticed at some of the resorts (most recently BCV) that they have a Tooth Fairy "Package" in the room service menu. It included a special tooth pillow and some other goodies.

It looked really cute and I was going to get it for DS even though he STILL doesn't have any loose teeth. This way I could have it at home when he finally lost that first one

For Tinkerbell's pixie dust why not get some of the colored Mickey head confetti. I don't know if they sell it in the stores, but you could probably get it from the Main Street barber shop - they used it in my kids hair last year and it's so cute.

If it falls out before your trip, proceed with your WDW ideas and leave them for her at home. Leave a little note with something like, I know you are going to see Mickey soon, have fun.

My DD lost her first tooth at DW last September. She wanted to keep the tooth so we wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking her if we could keep it. Surprise, the next morning she had her tooth, 2 quarters and a charm braclet from Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell left a note saying that she handles the tooth fairy's job at DW. The charm braclet had a few charms that went along with our trip, so our DD could always remember where she lost her first tooth. It was a lot of fun for her and us! :thumbsup2
We were staying at POFQ and I had asked if they had any type of confetti for tooth fairy visits, but they didn't. I'm not sure if they were just out or didn't keep any, so you might want to pack some just in case.

These are all great ideas! Thank you all very much for sharing! It just occured to me that I actually have a Mickey head hole punch for scrapbooking, so it would be VERY quick and easy to make some confetti! And I think, as indigoxtreme mentioned, I'll just prepare and execute the plan even if it falls out before we leave...she'd really love that. She just loves all the magic (and so do my DH & I ;) ).

That sounds very cute!!

My DS8 has lost about 4 teeth....and the last 2 we never got to put under his pillow because he swallowed the teeth!! Ohhhh!!!!

Thanks for the ideas!! My 2nd son has his first loose tooth and it he could very well lose it on our trip next week (!). We already have plans to give him some disney dollars for it like we did with our other son who lost one a couple months ago and he got a couple disney dollars too.

Very cute ideas! I wish I would have been able to come up with something more special when DD1's tooth fell out during Belle's Story Time last year. Instead, I made an excuse that I was very thirsty, and left the kids with DH. I went in search of a gold dollar coin, which is what the tooth fairy gives for each and every tooth. I wasn't able to find one at any of the local counter places. A CM mentioned the only place she was aware of that had dollar coins was at the post-office on Main Street. I ended up buying one stamp with a $10 bill, and got several gold dollar coins in return. It was a lot of running around, but something that we had to follow through with!

I love the idea of Disney Dollars and confetti! :teeth:

OMGosh! I bet when you started the dollar coin tradition, you never thought you'd need to produce one in WDW! I would have done the same running around to find one if I was in your situation. The longer you can stay consistent, the longer they get to enjoy the magic of being a little kid!! :wizard:

We've already had a few challenges - there's a little girl in her class whose TF apparently brings a charm (instead of $) for each lost tooth, to add to a bracelet or necklance (can't remember all the details) and the little girl was telling the whole class about it...so of course my DD came home and said "gee Mom, how come I only get $$"...so we had to explain that there were several different tooth fairies that cover various streets and neighborhoods, just like the mail delivery person, and each tooth fairy must carry different things. :rotfl: I'm SOOO glad we had this conversation a few months ago because now it won't even dawn on her if Tinkerbell steps in as the TF while we're in WDW. She'll almost expect it! :tinker:

I love all the ideas folks have been sharing - keep them coming!!

Speaking of hearing of Toothfairy stories from classmates...my niece heard from one of her classmates that the toothfairy brings $20! So sure enough when she lost her first tooth she wanted the toothfairy to bring her $20 too. Wouln't you know that my DD had to sleep over that night and now she wants $20 when she loses her first tooth too! :confused3

Tinkerbell tooth fairy package is available from room service at the deluxe hotels for sure- I am not sure about the others as they don't do room service? They do a little note talking about how Tinkerbelle has Fairy rights in Disneyworld and she takes over the Tooth fairies job AT DISNEYWORLD(that gets you out of the whole shebang on the next tooth) Call the front desk if it falls out when you are there and I am sure they will help you. It is slightly more Girlie in nature.... glitter ect.. but very cute.

We leave for WDW and DCL in three weeks and DD5 has 3 loose teeth! She's already lost 3, the last one about a month ago and the permanent tooth is only about halfway in. The kid's gonna look toothless.

Anyway, great ideas in case one(or more) come out during our vacation.

:tinker:
Thanks.

Aww, a tooth to fall in WDW.. A memory to be savored.
Well, perhaps you could use some Mickey confetti, spread it around under the pillow, and... get some quarters, dollars, AND Disney Dollars to put under there!!
And, if you can't get Mickey confetti, use the Home Depot Mickey head paint chips, cut out the Mickey heads and use those as confetti!!
:rotfl:
