It's 3:45am and the "tooth fairy" has yet to make a successful "tooth-coin under the pillow" exchange tonight. The DS9 in question keeps waking up and the "tooth fairy" is afraid she'll get caught redhanded!

If anyone out there is awake at this unusual hour, please send some pixie dust my way so I can get the deed done and get some sleep......the "tooth fairy" needs all the beauty sleep she can get in our house!

Very sleepy mom from NC:crazy:

pixie dust, pixie dust, pixie dust
"I do believe in fairies, I do, I do"

I know it's morning already.
I hope you were successful.
My DS8 is the SAME WAY!

Jwann, thanks so much for the pixie dust! The "tooth fairy" headed upstairs shortly after I wrote this thread and am proud and happy to say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Whew....it's the little things in life that really put you to the test.....good luck on your next "tooth fairy" adventure!

Mom from NC:teeth:

we would put the tooth in a sealed envelope and then the next morning the kids were always amazed at how the tooth fairy took the tooth out and replaced it with money and didn't even unseal the envelope........it was alot easier to find the tooth ......

The tooth fairy at this house has become an expert on hugs, tucking in, and making sure the pillow is adjusted just right, during the night. ;) ;)

Glad it worked out:D ...with one of our kids we realized we had no dollar bills to put under her pillow so we snuck two out of her piggy bank....YES, we replaced it,LOL,(before I get flamed for meanest mother of the year;)

At our house, the kids and I decided that it would be easier for the toothfairy if we put the tooth in it's envelope on the nightstand, right next to their beds. I had almost gotten caught way too many times, and now they can see their dollar right when they open their eyes in the morning.

mmmmm.....this tooth fairy fell alseep on the job the last 2 teeth. DS just turned 12 and lost 2 teeth in a matter of a few weeks. He knows there is no tooth fairy, but won't admit it. He uses the whole toothfairy thing as a way to score cash! Last tooth he said.....Gee, that toothfairy is getting lazy. Still no money and my tooth is still there...lol. I just look at him and say.....well, maybe tonight she will remember. Thing is, I did remember that night. Left him money. He took it. Hubby came along later and slipped money under the pillow. Son did not say a word! Scammer! He scored twice.

I'm fairly sure DS9 doesn't really believe anymore, but will use it to get money! Really suprised him the night the Tooth Fairy figured out WHERE he hid the tooth!:smooth: The little turd put it in a bag hanging on the back of his door!!I admit I plain out forgot about the last tooth. He had it pulled out by the dentist last Friday, but stayed at a friends Friday night and gma and gpa Saturday night. He came home and told me the tooth was still there. I only had a ten so I offered it for the tooth telling him I would like to keep it since it was pulled out by the dentist and very unique looking.:) That was fine with him after all money talks!!::yes::

We always put the tooth in a plastic bag, that way a new bag with the money is easily slipped in when the tooth bag is slipped out. The poor tooth fairy in our house is working overtime. My 3DSs all lost teeth in the same week! The poor fairy is on overload!

I remember one time when the tooth fairy forgot to visit our house one night. DD woke up in the morning and came down, "the tooth fairy did not come!" OMG! Airhead MOM!!!! What kind of MOM am I???? What a DOOFUS!!!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_117.gif' border=0></a> OKAY...calm down...let's save this. I grabbed a buck<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_1_102.gif' border=0></a> and went upstairs and did a pretend concerned look for the money and I was able to sneak the buck in the back of the pillow case. I told her that "Here's the money! Guess the tooth fairy forgot to take the tooth....well....I will take care of that!" Okay, I saved her belief for a few more teeth with that quick thinking.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_4_102.gif' border=0></a>

Once upon a time.. my DS #1 came home from school and told me that another child had toold him that the tooth fairy was his father..and then DS31 looked at me in a suspecious way>>

So I said.. So Mr. Romanowski is the tooth fairy??? well that explains why he works from home..artist by day and tooth fairy by night..

The next week.. DS#1 lost another tooth and I said shall we call MR Romanowski?? and he said NO MOM..Robbie said that everyone's parents are the TF..WEll I said.. look in the corner of the tub tile near the ceiling.. do you see the small dot up there? Yes he said.. Maybe that is the tooth fairy waiting for you to get to bed??

And so DS#1 ran into his bed, turned off the light and went to sleep.. And in the mornig he found that the TF had visited and left him $$..

:teeth:

I am so hysterical about Mr. Romanowski being the tooth fairy!!! What quick thinking!!!!

My eldest ds is 10 and still believes in both the tooth fairy and in Santa Claus. I have asked him if he still believes and told him its okay if he doesnt we will talk about it but he says he still believes in them with a very serious look on his face so hes not just saying it....he means it. Im happy to have him hang on to the innocence of a child as long as he wants to.

The Tooth Fairy has been VERY busy at our house with DS5.5. Since the Friday before Christmas 2003, the Tooth Fairy has been to our condo 3 times.
DS5.5 has now become concerned, since we are in the process of moving AND he has at least one more loose tooth. He wants to know how the Tooth Fairy will know where he is. I remind him that the Tooth Fairy is sort of like Santa, except that the Tooth Fairy only KNOWS where the teeth are, not the boy or girl. Difficult to grasp? Maybe, but a) DS is smart and b) What else am I SUPPOSED to say??!!

I'm glad the Tooth Fairy was light on her toes, cadburysmom. My DS's Tooth Fairy is a man who weighs 280+lbs. Kinda like a bull in a china shop.

Gee, I would hope he looked suspicious. If he still believes in the tooth fairy at the age of 31 I would be a little concerned. ;)

Why does my quote look different than others that I see? Did I do something wrong?

When I was about 6, I tried to trick the tooth fairy. My best friend was losing teeth left and right and I was jealous. So I came up with the bright idea that since it was dark in my room, the tooth fairy would not know that the rolled up piece of tissue under my pillow was not a tooth.

I bragged to everyone who would listen - including my parents - that I had come up with a get rich quick scheme.

I can see my parents now, sneaking into my room that night trying to stiffle their hysterical laughter. When I awoke, I reached under my pillow to retrieve ... you guessed it ... a lump of coal.

I was so embarassed that I did't tell anyone what happened. For the longest time I thought the tooth fairy was mad at me and wouldn't bring money the next time.

It's a good thing the tooth fairy is a benevolent one. She forgave me. But I learned a valuable lesson.

Never, never, never try to trick the tooth fairy.
