Took a bump on Southwest

Actually for us Albany is always a bargain for Orlando and most other places. We only paid $49 for our last tickets each way, and $37 for the ones before that. The only time we have paid more is during school vacation. Last year when we went to DC, we paid about $24 for each ticket. Now, when using vouchers, you have to book on the phone, so that won't be as good a bargain, but hey, free is free LOL!

I also recently received a "bump" voucher ($1380). I was told that I could book on the internet and then send in the voucher with the travel and payment info and be reimbursed. I called SW this week to confirm as I want to book flights for August - I was told that I needed to send the info in after travel was complete and my credit card used to purchase the flights would be credited. She also told me that I would be issued another voucher for the balance (the flights I'm looking at are around $900, so I had asked if I needed to wait until I'd used the entire amount of voucher).

I've read on flyertalk that this has worked for people (average 3 weeks from time you send info in), so I'm going to do it that way. I know I'll be out the $900 for a few months, but the "internet" rate right now is $20 less each way than the next rate - so for the 4 of us that's $160 savings to use next time.

That's great! I didn't realize SW ever did bumps (but I'm a pretty new SW traveller).

Have fun in HI!

This is great info..thank you.
