Hi All-
I am planning to take my family to DW in the spring of 2004, not sure when is the best time- I'd like to go for my daughter's b-day but that's unfortunately during peak season (late March).

A few questions-
1. Is it worth getting an annual pass for the discount you get if you stay at a DW resort? I plan to be there about 8 days.
2. Do you think the codes that are coming out late April will expire before then? If so, when do you all think the NEXT set of codes would be coming out?
3. How do i find out what all of the abbreviations mean (like DH, DD, etc?)
4. Any tips on how to convince my wife to go to DW again? :-)
We went this past November with our 3 kids, and she says "You want to go AGAIN?". She loves it there but thinks we should go somewhere else- I could go every year if it's up to me.
Anyway, thanks in advance for your help!
Dan

I wouldn't base your decision to buy an AP on resort discounts. Disney *may* offer discounts during your time, but they are not obligated to. As you can see by the threads on this board, many of us are waiting for any kind of discount past 7/3/03. If you are a AAA member, they usually release the AAA discounts during the summer. Other than that, you probably won't see any codes or discounts (if at all since it is peak season) until after the New Year. Hope this helps.

We're planning our next trip for next March (we just got back 2 weeks ago) and they're only taking reservations through Dec. of this year...although we buy packages rather than each part separately. We did, however, call AKL directly and they told us the same thing...they think by June they'll have info on room rates for the beginning part of next year.

HTH,

Donna C.

PS...the abbreviations DD, DS, DH mean dear (or darling) daughter, son, husband.

I booked our January CSR stay 2 - 3 weeks ago and glad I did.
The 2004 rates aren't out. But you can book now and be charged whatever the rack rate is now.
I am very glad I booked, as I knew CSR would book up fast for marathon week. And Dagny (DU) was only able to get us a waterview room, as that was all that was available at CSR for that time.
I think the other mods will book faster now that FQ and part of POR will be closed.
You can book now and have a room discount applied, if applicable, at a later date.

And for abbreviations:

I agree with Puffkin on the AP question. The resort discounts are nice, but they are not etched in stone. I think you should base your purchase on whether or not you will be going back to WDW more than once in a year's time. Also, I think there is a comparison chart somewhere on the DIS that gives you an idea of whether or not an AP is "economically feasible" depending on how many nights you are staying. Check that out as well.

As far as AP's go....

If I were you, I'd wait until the AP rates are released to decide what type of tickets to buy. I'd book the room I wanted to stay at as early as possible. If the rates come out and the savings is worth buying at least one AP, you can apply the rate to your current reservations (assuming there is availability). You don't have to purchase the AP before you book the rate and only one person has to have one.

I would think the soonest you'll see any discounts that apply to your time frame would be in the late winter, perhaps Jan/Feb, but really you just never know.

DH, DD, DW....all mean dear "whatever"..husband, daughter, wife and so on......
