Here's my dilemma. I'm trying to decide (with 1 Table Service Credit left) which of these places to eat at.:scratchin There are 4 of us; Me, DH, DS11, DS8.

The last time we went to WDW, we ate breakfast at Crystal Palace before park opening (which we're not concerned about this trip-taking it easy this time...). We really enjoyed the meal, but my boys, even though they love character meals-found Winnie-the-Pooh a little TOO "young" for them. pooh: (Funny huh? Yet Mickey Mouse is SO mature..lol!)

Even though Liberty Tree Tavern, dinner, is no longer a character meal, we really enjoyed the food/atmosphere the last time.

I've read good things about Chef Mickey's. (oh-and we're staying at the Polynesian :cloud9: ) I would be interested to hear how this breakfast fares in comparison to Crystal Palace.

Note: we already plan to do O'hana breakfast-a favorite of my boys! :stitch:

Let's hear YOUR opinion! :chat: Thanks!!

Ive never been to Chef Mickeys....I can't get my DH to leave a park to go to a restaurant at a different resort...HOWEVER, I have been to Crystal Palace and I LOVED IT!!! Granted my kids are 5 and 2 and my 2 yr old loves Pooh, but the food is great and I think it would be ok to go back just for the food!!!

My 43 yr old aunt LOVES Pooh!!!

I voted Chef Mickey's. My son was 6 on our last trip and we went there with friends and their 12, 14, and 16 yo. We all LOVED it and had a really great time. The kids thought it was great to take the monorail there also.

I voted Chef Mickey's, but what about Donald's breakfast at Tusker House (AK) or Cape May's breakfast at Beach Club

We went to Chef Mickeys for Easter brunch last year, and my just turned 11 yo ds loved it! We were staying at the Contemporary so it was very convienent also!:rotfl: We are staying at AKL in July and are planning on doing it again!

None of us liked the food at Chef Mickeys. If you are looking for atmosphere, then Chef Mickeys is great. We really enjoyed CP both for breakfast and dinner. Its a must do every trip!!

Since you have boys I would say Donald's Safari Breakfast in Animal Kingdom ... we did this on our last trip and LOVED it!!! Best character breakfast we've had!!! # 2 would be Goofy's Beach Club Breakfast! I know these aren't on your poll, but these are our favs!! Me, DH, DD19, DD17, DD13 and DD12!!

If you enjoyed Crystal Palace, I'd try to get it with an early ADR before the park opens. Just don't have a camera or autograph book out and I'm sure the characters won't stay too long.
My 8 year old enjoyed them though. Of course, she also didn't have older siblings that whe would have wanted to convince of anything, KWIM?
You could always have the camera out and have the boys take pics of YOU with them. They might get a kick out of that if they aren't big on the characters themselves.

You have one of THOSE husbands too??? Mine would prefer staying in the parks, or at our resort to eat. He thinks traveling to other resorts is a waste of our time. Fortunately, we're staying at the Polynesian this time and having several meals there. I figured that the Contemporary (Chef Mickey) wouldn't upset him too much, seeing how it's only a few minutes on the monorail. :rolleyes1

Note: my boys really enjoy character meals, just not Winnie-the-Pooh so much. But come on.....that WONDERFUL puffed french toast is AMAZING! Drool.....

I had considered Donald's Safari breakfast, I was just concerned that we only planned on doing Animal Kingdom one day, and I wasn't sure how much "park time" that would take up? Is that one meal I could book pre-park opening? What characters are there usually? (besides Donald, obviously :rolleyes2 )

I wouldn't worry about age at CP. I carried DH, DS18, DD17, and DD's BFF. They had a blast!!! We have lots of funny pictures of them with the characters!!!

We always go to CP for dinner and the food is really great but have never done breakfast there. I think that if the kids are not into the characters there to try another character meal. Chef mickeys was a good reccomendation for breakfast. I think the breakfast is better than the dinner there. We are going to try Donalds At Tusker House in AK this time around in May for a different character experience for the kids.

YES! Our last trip we did this for breakfast. Our ADR was before the park opened. We walked to the restaurant, told them our names and we were seated immediately. If memory serves me correctly it was Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Goofy, and MAYBE Pluto...I'm not sure. It was so much fun though! Every once in awhile they give all the kids "noisemakers" and Donald starts a somewhat conga line with the kids and they make their way around the dining room. Not to mention that the food here is AMAZING. By far my favorite for breakfast.

Okay, I'm thinking...(if I don't change my mind in the next 12 months-lol!) that it's either between Donald's Safari Breakfast (which isn't even an option in my poll!) and Chef Mickey breakfast.....hmmm....

DH is almost 56--later this week he hits that number and I just turned 51. We LOVE our breakfast with Pooh and friends and it is the one we must do every single trip. Just like "never being too told" for Mickey, you are "never too old" for Pooh and friends!
