I don't get out of work until 3 or 3:30pm. My dad says traffic will be pretty bad and it can easily take me up to 2.5 hours to get from here (Santa Clarita, CA) to Disneyland.

Is that right? That's SOOOO long. I was thinking of taking the metrolink but they come back too early.

My TSM preview slot is from 4-8pm. I would still have 1.5 hours if I arrived at 6pm. I'd ride TSM, maybe Mullholland Madness and then go over to Disneyland for a few hours and then go home.

Is this just crazy?

I don't know if I should or shouldn't go.
Plus, gas is a killer. Even though it only takes 4 gallons round trip for my car.

How well do you know LA? You might be able to reduce time by diverting onto some surface streets. We drove from NoCal to Santa Monica last week (via 405). Hit bad traffic at Santa Monica Blvd.

I think that without traffic it would take you about an hour and 10 minutes to DL (right?). You will definitely hit traffic, so your dad is probably right.

Yikes! 2.5! We're about 30 minutes (?) from you and with traffic it takes us 2. What freeway do you normally take to DLR?

I think your dad is probably right, or at least you should PLAN on it taking that long, and then if it doesn't you can enjoy a snack & people watch, or go on something else.

I live in Carson, & w/good traffic it takes me 1/2 hour or less to get to DL, but when there is traffic it can take up to an hour - and that's just taking the 91 to the 5.
