Hi all! I love these boards so much. I wanted to get some of your expert opinions on our family trip. We have had a rough few years in my family and I am trying to plan an epic vacation. It would be for my parents (60 years oldish), my husband, myself and our 13 year old son...loves, loves, rides! We are planning on going to Orlando for 14 days (May 2017), here is what I am thinking of doing and just need a little guidance. Discovery Cove 1 day and get unlimited BG,SW,Aquatica tickets. 3 days at Universal/IOA and staying onsite for those 3 days. Stay 3 days in Tampa to do BG, transfer to Universal Hotel (not sure which one yet). 3 days at Universal. 1 day discovery cove, 1 day SW, aquatica for full day plus some 1/2 days in there as well. We have rented a house for the rest of our stay. Is this just too much to try to do and still enjoy it without being completely exhausted the whole trip? :upsidedow Thanks so much for any advice!

You will have great flexibility with those tickets.

We are able to 'do' BG easily in one day. Usually drive back & forth. Would imagine it being more relaxing to stay overnight. You could work in a visit to Clearwater beach, which is beautiful. Check out the giraffe feeding excursion @ BG, so much fun!

SW as to how the show times are set up/lines for coasters, might find you need to do two days or partials w/Aquatica.

If FOTL 3 days in the park would work. If the budget permits, suggest adding a 4th day to your tickets as onsite FOTL is good for day off checkout too. Compare to the lowest priced AP which would also make you eligible for APH rates. You will want to allow some time to enjoy the nice onsite pools and your son would like the citiwalk area - lots of kids his age there.

Sounds like an amazing trip in the works, enjoy!

Doesn't sound too much at all!!

Your plan seems to work and looks good...........we have no interest in so called rest days........as macraven says.......sleep when you get home!

Universal can be as busy or as calm as you like.......you have plenty of time to smell the roses and have some resort time too which is nice.........good idea to add the 4th day as you'll have that as checkout day anyway........

If it gets too much for your parents, there are plenty of areas around the parks for them to sit and chill out for a while..........

Yay!! I like the way you guys think! Thanks for putting my mind at ease, I just didn't want it to be overkill. I am getting more and more excited. Good idea about checking into the 4th day...I will price it out. Thanks again for your input, it is so appreciated! :thanks:

Sounds epic, indeed. We brought the grandparents along at that age, too. Once they start pushing 70's it is hard to do all the more intense rides and be a part of all the fun. So have a great time and make lots of memories for the young and old.

I'll remember that when I am pushing to the 70's

Only do the coasters once a day
Hahahaha
Wait I thought someone had already told you doing them past 50 was risking your life. Better watch out you're nearing that 50 hurdle ;) :tiptoe:

We did one in 2012, hence my board name, 15 days - 4 days universal, 2 days Sea World, 2 days Aquatica, 1 day Discovery Cove, 2 days Magic Kingdom, 2 days Hollywood Studios, and throw in 1/2 day Wonderworks, Al Capone's dinner theater, Clearwater Aquarium, and a dinner at T-Rex in Downtown Disney.

It was epic and we still talk about it. On the last day (which was my birthday), we did the VIP tour at Sea World and walking across the bridge to Shamu Stadium, my whole body completely seized up, didn't think I would ever move again!!! If I could have just made it about 5 more hours...

We structured a little different - we had a condo for the entire 15 days, and opted for Wednesday nights on site at Universal, which gave us Wednesday and Thursday Express Pass. On both Thursdays, we rented a cabana by the pool so anyone who needed rest could get it. Discovery Cove was the middle weekend, it is so relaxing, we used it as a rest day. Aquatica days were also in a cabana, similar mindset, rest if needed. So, each week had 1 Magic Kingdom, 1 Hollywood Studios, 1 Aquatica, 1 Sea World, and 2 Universals, and we filled in the gaps with Wonderworks, dinner shows, downtown disney, etc.

Wow, your vacation sounds epic indeed!! Glad you were able to make it to your last full day before any "issues"!! Makes me feel better to know it is doable. I figure if worse comes to worse we can just do 1/2 days in the parks later in the week if everyone is feeling exhausted. as much as I tried, I just don't want to cut anything out! We are so looking forward to this. I appreciate everyone's feedback so much.
