Too much hype for Mission Space?

Just returned from WDW (July 19-26). We walked by Mission Space on Saturday night (July 19) around 8:45 and noticed it was open so of course we popped in for a preview. I was extremely excited to get to ride this attraction since I wasn't expecting it to be open (even though I know that it open from time to time, I usually have terrible timing so I thought I would never be in the right place at the right time). We had just eaten at O'hanas so I was a little apprehensive to go on with a full stomach, but I wasn't going to miss this oppurtunity. Well, I must admit that the take off was AWESOME and would be well worth a long wait. Neither my fiance or I felt sick on this ride, even with very stuffed stomachs. However, I was disappointed with the rest of the ride. I just didn't think it was that great. To me, it felt like Star Tours, been there done that. I guess with all the hype and talks about how this was the next generation of theme park ride, ect. I just was holding usually high expectations for the ride which were not met. I am curious if anyone else feels the same way? I think it is a great ride that is very well themed, and I loved the take off, but I just feel like something was missing. Please let me know if anyone else felt the same way.

I felt the same way about Test Track the first time I rode it and about Alien Encounter at MK. I had just read too many glowing reviews of both of them--that Test Track was a rush and Alien Encounter was very scary.

As a result of knowing exactly what was going to occur on Alien Encounter before I experienced it, I was very disappointed and didn't find it scary or exciting at all.

I was very disappointed in Test Track because I've driven a convertible on a freeway at faster speeds and it just didn't give me that rush. Certainly not exciting enough for me to stand in the single rider line for 45 minutes because the ride kept breaking down. It's fun and worth maybe a 5 minute wait to me personally.

I'm anxious to experience Mission Space but I try not to read too many reviews, I don't want to go in with preconceived notions and then be disappointed.

It's good to know that the takeoff is fun :)
