TOO Much food! Our Jan.09 Deluxe Dining Adventure TONS of pics! Completed 3/4

For my entree I got the Macadamia Nut and Chive-crusted Mahi-mahi. Oh my goodness yum! The best piece of mahi mahi I've ever tasted. I ate every bite.

FWIW, DW & I also love mahi-mahi, and we LOVE the mahi-mahi at CR. That is easily one of the best meals at WDW as well...great from apps [both the Land and Sea & the Bisque are excellent] to desserts [Chocolate Wave or the mousse] are well beyond anything that can be purchased in the real world.

Great report - thanks so much.
You look beautiful in all the pics - just like the princess!
Awww thank you so much. How nice. :goodvibes

Is Mickey always at Ohanna's? I would love to take our kids to see Mickey and Stitch.
Yes Mickey is always at Ohana's and he is in less demand here than he is at Chef Mickey's.
Oddly enough thats what DW & I ordered (she had the bread pudding, I had the Kiss) on our first trip to RR. We love it there...never done lunch, but we've had dinner there a few times and loved it each. We usually try to get seated with enough time to start our dinner by the time the band is on so the server can hear us and we them (and us eachother). I'm really enjoying the thread, and hope you have a great trip in Oct. If you're doing DxDDP one resturant that DW and I go to whenever possible is LTT for lunch. The Tavern Fried Cheese is possibly our favorite app on property.
We ate dinner at RR on this trip too. That reports coming later and that was awesome as well! That's funny that you say that about LTT lunch because we just added that to our list of restaurants for October. The fried cheese does look soooo yummy!
Is is so awesome to read your reviews... I am just starting to make a list for our Disneymoon in september :)
Oh cool, we went on our Disneymoon last September! Hope you have a great time.

Dinner at Sci Fi

This is one of the restaurants we do every trip. We love the atmosphere more than the food. :) For drinks I got an oreo milkshake and DH got a cherry coke. For my appetizer I got the spinach and artichoke dip. This is the best spinach artichoke dip anywhere! It's so cheesy and delicious.
199.jpg

DH got the 7 bean beef chili. He liked it but dug into mine, as he liked mine way better!
200.jpg

For my entree I got the shrimp penne pasta, but subsituted the shrimp with chicken. It was alright, the dish at The Turf Club is much better. This one has too much oil for me. Sorry for the flash.
201.jpg

DH got the butcher steak. He hated it. He asked for it well done, and it was...too well done. It was very tough and chewy and he said it didn't even have good flavor.
202.jpg

For my dessert we both got the same thing, the cheesecake with carmel sauce and treats. Awesome as always! I love cheesecake, and it's hard to mess up cheesecake.

So even though this place is one we do every trip, I think that we will be skipping it next trip. We were too disappointed with the food this time around, and the service. Our server was a little pushy about the tip as well, making a big dark circle around the tip area and making sure he mentioned the "tip card" that he put in the bill. :rolleyes1

I'm really enjoying your TR so far! A lot of the places you've gone to are some of our favorites! I went to Narcoossee's but was scared of the concept of a whole lobster. It looks fairly disassembled from your pic so maybe I'll give it a try next time!

My DH (schimj) pointed me to this because he said you and I had similar eating habits (no red meat, etc) so it's fun to see a report with more of my kind of food.

That is too bad that you did not like scifi this time. We like it a lot too but have only ever ordered burgers and shakes there. I have heard that the other food is not that great usually.

Sorry you were dissappointed with the Sci fi. I've never been there but hoping to do this place next trip. I hope its not too bad.

I've always found Sci-Fi to be hit or miss. Sometimes we like it, sometimes it is not so great. We return every now and then for the atmosphere. We just have to remember to stick to the burgers and fries, and save the other foodfor other restaurants!

Looking forward to more reviews! :hippie:

Your reviews and pics are great! :yay: I can't wait to read the rest of them! I especially like that you included snacks and yummy drinks at Epcot!

I am sooooooooooo hungry and thirsty now!!!:drinking1 popcorn::

Just back yesterday, and this is the first time that DH and I tried the deluxe dining plan. Wow was it alot of food, but we loved it. And there is plenty of pictures to come. I think that half of all my photos are of the food! Here is the list of restaurants that we went to.

Sci Fi
50's Primetime
1900 Park Faire
Tutto Italia
California Grill
Cosmic Ray's

I will start the review shortly!

Yes it is alot of food we did the Platimun Plan back in April. It was fun but we always felt like we were eating.

We ate at Sci-Fi 10 months ago and I wasn't impressed with it either. The ambiance was great and that we enjoyed a lot. The food was just eh. If I remember correctly DH got the Italian Grilled Chicken Sandwich with the cucumber melon salad and I had the Reuben with fries. The cucumber melon salad was actually good and refreshing. I had a few bites of DH's. I make Reuben sandwiches at home for dinner about once a month and mine taste way better than the one I had at Sci-Fi. We'll go back and give it another try but not anytime soon.

I have to agree that the server we had as well was a little pushy about how much tip we should leave him. That too was very off-putting.

Oh my I put on 20 lbs just looking at all of the pictures. Great review though of things I have yet to try at places we go and those places I now want to try!:thumbsup2

Sorry you were dissappointed with the Sci fi. I've never been there but hoping to do this place next trip. I hope its not too bad.
It's not too bad, just not nearly as good as the other TS restaraunts. Besides, the atmosphere is really fun!

I've always found Sci-Fi to be hit or miss. Sometimes we like it, sometimes it is not so great. We return every now and then for the atmosphere. We just have to remember to stick to the burgers and fries, and save the other foodfor other restaurants!
True, I'm sad the entrees are not better as DH and I really love the rest of the Sci Fi experience.

Looking forward to more reviews! :hippie:
Thanks!

I know, I make myself hungry writing the reviews. lol

Wow the platinum package, DH and I will have to try to tackle that one some time. :)

It is such a bummer that there food isn't better. I think we're going to stick to 50's Primetime from now on.

So DH and I are also thinking about trying Nine Dragons during our next trip. Has anyone tried it, I haven't heard very many reviews about this place but DH really likes Chinese food.

Nine Dragons, is a typical Chinese restaurant in my opinion, DH loves it there though. The food is good. My one complaint is that the tables are so close together, and when i say close i mean close. A person can barely walk through the tables. Other than that its a good choice.

Great reviews! You guys ate a lot of the places I am planning to try. Based on your reviews I'll be skipping the Plaza! I think I will still try Sci-Fi though, like you, more for the atmosphere!

50's Primetime-lunch

We were so excited to try this restaurant after hearing many good reviews about it. Here's DH looking super excited before lunch.
237.jpg

We didn't get a very playful server, and we did try to provoke him by putting our elbows on the table and tattling. He didn't seem to care. Next time we are asking for a fun server.
First, for my drink I got the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. I was hesitant about trying this, it sounds weird. But it was really good. DH actually made me one at home, after he found the recipe online. Awesome! I also have to mention that DH is making me LeCellier cream cheese mashed potatoes tomorrow night for dinner. (He found the recipe for that too) I cant wait!
So heres the milkshake.
239.jpg

DH got a coke.

For the appetizer we both got the same thing. Chicken noodle soup. Nothing else for appetizers appealed to us. The soup was good, its about the same as the soup that they serve at Kona.
240.jpg

DH got the pot roast for his entree but he wanted to try the onion rings so he got these instead of mashed potatoes. He LOVED  the pot roast, wished he could've gotten another plate. But said the onion rings were more batter than onion. He wasn't impressed with those.
241.jpg

I got the fish sandwich. It was pretty good, better than I expected it to be, plus it came with a pickle! I love pickles. It was very filling though and I could only finish about half.
242.jpg

Onto dessert. Here's DH deciding what he wants for dessert.
243.jpg

We both decided on the brownie sundae. It was very good, much better than the one DH had gotten at The Plaza. The only thing was the pink celebration balloon on the whipped cream was supposed to be a strawberry candy. I tried to eat it and it was so hard I felt like I was going to break my teeth, so I didn't end up eating that.
244.jpg

The meal here was good but the experience would have been much better with a playful server. There's always next time though.

I am really enjoying this Dining Reoprt!

I'm starting a list of places for us to try when we go in October. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for all the food p0rn!:rotfl2:

I get the fish sandwich too! We really like the smores there - they are light enough if you are already full and very delicious!!

Great reviews. Keep 'em coming!

By the way- how were those homemade Le Cellier cream cheese mashed potatoes? Those are my favorite! :cloud9:
