Too Many Options getting to Port Canaveral

Hi!

We're trying to figure out what is the best way to get to Port Canaveral for our cruise. We'll be staying at WDW 4 nights after the cruise.

DH hates to be stranded without a car. We've been to Orlando many times in the past and have taken Disney buses every where. We rented a car the last few times and he can't imagine not having a car any more.

The problem...he hates wasting money too. So to pay for the car and parking to sit for 7 days is bad too. He know's he can't have his cake and eat it too. So what is the best option for us? Is there a way to have convience and financial practicality? Is there a compromise in the middle.

I see people staying at the Raddison all the time. Is there a benefit to that? We thought maybe a taxi and then we wouldn't have to go throught the hassel of getting shuttled to the rental car agency and lugging our suitcases everythere.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you like have a car rent one. We usually go with Budget they are really close to the Radisson. Twice we have stayed at the Radisson. You can even walk from the Budget office to the Radisson I think it is .2 of a mile. If you rent a car you have a couple of options.
Rent from the airport and return it to Budget near the terminal. If you stay at the Radisson you can take their free shuttle over to the terminal. We find it very easy to use. Or you can have one person bring everyone and the luggage to the terminal and drop everyone off. Then that person can return the can to Budget and take their shuttle back to the terminal.
Then on your return you can rent a one-way back to the airport if you are heading home.
Hope this helps!

We pick up a Budget rental car at the airport when we arrive and have it for our 3 days at WDW before our cruise. Cruise morning we'll drop everybody off at the terminal and DH will return car to Cape Canaveral location and take shuttle back. Cost $157 including all fees for intermediate SUV for 3 days. We rented an SUV because we need the room for our luggage.

After the cruise (our flight is at 6pm) we will take shuttle to Budget and rent a vehicle to tool around in for the day before our flight and drop off at the airport. Cost $53 for SUV.

The cost for the four of us from WDW - Pier and Pier to MCO is $200 (I think) using Disney transportation. Using this method we have a car for our trip (which we use a lot) and we can do something productive on our last day. It just costs $10 more. It would be less if we could get by with a smaller car.

Good luck with your planning!
