Howdy!! Hoping you guys can help me here.

Our upcoming October vacation I've pretty much decided to do a split stay. The first 3-4 days will be Value/Mod with the dining package (we'll also buy 10day park tickets with that, and get the ME to the hotel). And then we'll retn a car and the next 6-7 days will be elsewhere. We'll also do some out of 'the world' activities in the 2nd half. Gatorland (probably the last day on the way to the airport), one of the dinner shows, Kennedy space center and stuff like that.

But I digress! It's that "elsewhere" that's driving me nuts! Oh, I was sure it would be Windsor Palms. Then I read about sky auction and worked at learning it because I was determined to get one of those great Vistana deals :hyper:

Then I never could find one so looked around and was Positive it would be Windsor Hills!

Then spent some time looking at renting points for DVC! Yikes! :scared:
TOO many choices! I'm having such a hard time narrowing it down.

My 'party' is me, DH, and DD age 6. We really do well in a hotel room sized enviroment so the big houses are fairly overkill. But I really didn't like having to go out to do laundry last trip; so the in-room washer-drier is a huge selling point on the condos. (Can't remember if Vistana has that.) On site activities for kids is NOT a selling point -- we won't be doing any of that (i think; though we could I guess set her up to do something like that and be nearby playing a game hmm....). All the extras of a condo (playstation II etc) are actually a bad thing because I know my couch potato hubby and will have a hard time dragging him away from the console game!

Really the main things are
* kitchenette or kitchen
* washer drier
* little bit of extra room
* bonus jaccusi tub for me :-) but I can live without it
* only ONE move on the vacation

To get that out of DVC I have to go 1-bedroom I think since the studios don't have washer/driers :( The studios are actually affordable, but I cannot justify the cost of a 1bedroom when the condo route gives us the same things much cheaper (than 1br).

I probably lost all of you already :-)

But if I haven't lost you and anyone is willing to help me talk it out I'd love to!! I have no one here to plan with :worried:
I know the things I like in the different places, I just cannot seem to get it to all gel.

Has anybody seen any good deals on Vistana of late? Room only that is? Not the room+airfare.

I'll probably end back at Windsor Hills but am happy to hear other ideas!

HEEEELLLLLPPPP :-) :worship:

Hi Sherry,
I'm not all that familiar with how to "work" skyauction. I'm sure there are plenty of experts out there that can help you with that though.
I do know that you can get a 1 bedroom villa at Vistana for about $159 on this site : http://www.hotelkingdom.com/

Since there's only 3 of you, I'm sure a 1 bedroom would be fine and all the 1 bedrooms are located in the newer sections of the resort (Lakes and Cascades). All have washer/dryer inside the room. A few have a jacuzzi.

Also, check here for discounted prices at Vistana :

I saw for October, you can get a 1 bedroom villa for $109 and a 2 bedroom for $149.
Hope this helps a little....good luck ! :)

if the studio would work for you I would go with them. the only problem is the washer/dryer. I think I would go with a studio at OKW or SSR.

both of their laundry mats are in the pool area.

you know your daughter is going to go swimming. So just wash the clothes during her swim times...(not to mention yours)

all the pools at all the DVC resorts have a spa (whirlpool - what you call it) - now this is not like the one in your room. but it is probably better for aching muscles....

you didn't need to get the temperature right, the water is there you don't need to wait for it fill up, and the bubbles feel GREAT!!!!

I would go with your dvc resort for the entire time - forget the value or moderates unless that is the weekend....you don't want to stay on dvc resort property on the weekend - much too expensive...

you can get the dinning plan with DVC. to get it at the WDW resorts you MUST buy their tickets.... the best deal for tickets is at ticketmania through mousesavers not Disney.

to get the dinning plan at DVC you don't have to buy the tickets. You just have to wait until April....

stayed at Vistana too - we had one of the older units and loved it.

I need work but it still great.

I think the 1-bedrooms are only in the new units..MiaSRN62 correct me if I am wrong.

so the problems with Vistana won't effective you in a 1-bedroom only the 2-bedrooms.

our unit was springs

You're absolutely right on that Pat :thumbsup2
Thanks also for the pics of the Springs Pat. I don't think I've ever seen this section before.
