too many buffets

For our upcoming trip, we have 4 buffets booked. Cape May, Crystal Palace, Cape May Breakfast, Ohana. Is that too many? We also have Le Cellier, 50's PTC, and ESPN (have to appease my sport loving DH).

With the new changes to the dining plan, this is the only way I know to get my salads in. Any thoughts appreciated!

No, I don't think so. I believe that the buffets at Disney are the BEST! You can get so much variety and the food is excellent!! You can't eat as little or as much as you like of what they serve. Enjoy your trip!

I don't think so. I love buffets. There are many more options and buffets at Disney doesn't mean lower in quality. I biggest challenge at buffets is when to stop eating!! Enjoy!:flower3:

You can never have enough buffets is our motto when going to WDW. For one thing we do not have any buffet restaurants where we live so it is cool to go. Another thing is they are mostly character meal which is a huge plus. Another would be that DH is a huge eater (and he is skinny, I could kill him ;) ) so it works out great for him. And another point is the price is much better than going to a regular TS meal, you get appies, desserts and many choices of food for one price with drinks included.

Our trip next month was all DH choosing:

Boma for breakfast and dinner (not on the same night)
CP for breakfast
Cape May for breakfast and dinner (not on the same night)
Le Cellier dinner (I insisted)

'Ohana isn't a buffet though it is all you can eat. The food is brought to you family-style. I never stuff myself silly there ... um, until dessert. :rolleyes1 We enjoy buffets, especially because I can get a variety of food into my adventurous eaters since the usual crud that is passed off as Disney kids' meals. doesn't suffice. I daresay we have even more buffets scheduled! Enjoy!

We always book buffets at the world. They have the best characters. We love CP, Ohana, Boma, and are trying CM for the first time this year. I think you will do fine. With kids it is so much easier than suffering through a long meal while they are bored to death. Great variety and you control the pace.

The buffets at WDW are the best. You can find something for everyone. If you want another suggestion, try Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is a fantastic buffet. Enjoy:cool2:

I am not a fan of most buffets outside of DW (unless it is Champagne brunch of course). I don't like over-warmed food in general. Disney does a good job of rotating dishes out.

For my family, DW buffets in general are what we favor when we visit. I have finicky children and sometimes it is a challenge finding something they will eat. I can always find something at a DW buffet they will eat. These same finicky kids never met a Disney Character they didn't like though (scoreboard Disney buffets!).

Also, we tend to be slower eaters (have DS1 & DS6 who are not speed eaters by any stretch of the imagination). We have an easier time controlling the pace of our meal at a buffet (no drink/appetizer/entree triple-sets or worse......long delays between courses) that sometimes happen at regular sit-downs. We are the ones on vacation after all. If I want to linger over a piece of cheesecake and some tarts.... and some more buffalo wings then by jove I will! :rotfl2: JMO.

I would like to single out the buffet at Boma (AKL) as the best we have found. Crystal Palace is a close 2nd for us. We will be eating breakfast/dinner at both places next week! :cool1:

You can never book too many buffets ! Those are some of our favorites ! Crystal palace is awesome and Cape May Buffet is a close second. O'Hana is lots of fun and it is all you can eat, but it is served family style........If you like steak, make sure you order the Filet Mignon at Le Cellier! It is awesome !

It is really great with the kids, I have a 2 year old that has been eating for free for 2 years at the buffets !

Enjoy ! You really picked out the winners !

I don't really think of Ohana's as a "traditional" buffet. You are served at your table family style. Yummy food and enjoyed the entertainment as well!

IMO, there is no such thing as too many buffets. :)

Thanks for all your replies. With the new changes and with a 18month old, we figured this is a good use of our money. We get salads, free meals for her. We almost decided not to do the ddp next trip, but hopefully I will be preggers and will enjoy sitting down to eat.

I agree with OP about the buffets at WDW not being the normal warmed over food you comonly find at buffets, but wanted to point out that Cape May's dinner, although efficient and decent, is not wonderful. Boma is wonderful and on my do not miss list. I like seafood and there are great places to eat it at WDW, but Cape May's isn't one of them.

O'Hanas, though a great deal of fun for the kids, is also not known for the food> if You want to eat at the POLY I would suggest Kona's - now that is much better food!

My family also prefers buffets when at WDW. And Boma is our favorite, hands down. However, after dining at Boma six times (all Saturday dinners) we dined there last Sunday and found the food selections were somewhat different. The ribs that I was drooling for were replaced by pork chops (still very good) and several of the other dishes were different. After questioning the server, we found out that Boma has three different menus throughout the week. Those delicious ribs are only served on Saturdays and Wednesdays. But any day of the week, Boma is still the best buffet in town.
