Too many breaks???

Thank you everyone for the creative suggestions! I forget about the other things to do around property- the kitchen sink at BC has been on my to do list for years. We love our downtime but I know I will be anxious that first full day we're there- definitely beats a day at home but I need to get a plan B for when the pool gets boring!

Wow the 8 day pass price comparison really puts it into perspective. Thank you for taking the time to do the math- I like the idea of the AP! We have been doing two trips- prior discount years we were able to buy more military salute tickets and this year we just did the Halloween party ticket and are planning on using the four day salute this trip. Money wise buying the four day ticket allows us to budget for the Poly but the addition of the 1 day ticket (for 4 adults) does kind of defeat the purpose of our prior budget. Our dilemma now is that we have already purchased our salute tickets but of course want more time at Disney. So I don't know if its worth to bite the expense and buy a one day ticket or find something different to do like the mini golf suggestion. We love the Poly and are excited to try CL but I think in the future we'll be back to 10 day tickets at POR, we're missing our park time.
You may upgrade to the AP once you are there, but I'm not sure if you can upgrade to the Military pricing. If you work things out right, you can get 2-3 trips out of it. Just book your next May trip to end before your passes do. Mother's Day is lovely at WDW. If you want to stick with your Military Salute ticket you can add the Water Parks and More feature (4 entries) to it for less than $30 per person. You can then visit the water parks and DisneyQuest on your days away from the other parks. Here's more info: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=29574052&postcount=17

One more free thing we did to kill time before our package started was check out animal kingdom lodge. Very cool resort. You can view animals past the lobby at the savannahs. Even have guides giving info out. Gift shop is fun to check out. At night they have night time animal viewing with night view goggles. Dont have to be a guest. You mentioned 4 adults?? I'd also check out the bars and enjoy a glass of south african wine.
