Too Many Acronymns!

Agreed. And with that I will stop feeding the trolls so to speak. They can continue to complain and I will continue to post how I see fit. And as stubborn as I am that will probably be with more acronyms than before. But if someone asks I will be more than happy to explain what I mean. Same as before.:wave2:

I swear this complaint happens every few days around here. You get used to it eventually. For those of us that come here often and frequently discuss the same things it is much easier to type CRT than Cinderella's Royal Table every time ( for example).

Yes, agree with this. OP it can be frustrating at first but you eventually absorb it the more you read here, and before you know it, you are "speaking the language" To be fair, it's not JUST here. The medical industry is crazy with them! Sports too! Internet Technology (you know, "IT") Practically anything new that you want to learn about, you must learn the "jargon" or you will be lost.

You are fighting literally 30 years of history and tradition here. I can read old 1988 posts I made to Rec.Arts.Disney (yes pre-RADP, jco@cis.ufl.edu) back in the day, and it was pretty much the same then.

But I think it's a super uphill battle you are fighting here.
I agree, there is a list provided. I'm not changing my posting style. Sorry.

This thread was on its way to zombie stage with my glad tidings. Who woke this monster up?

I'll say it again. Posters will use acronyms that not everyone will understand. Asking them (us) to change that is pointless. If someone who doesn't understand an acronym is too proud to ask what that means or "can't be bothered", then I don't think they really cared about the answer in the first place. And therefore I don't care that I used a commonly-used acronym within this fan community.

I couldn't believe this was still going on! Not changing my style. But.....there are some pretty obscure acronyms out there...if something really isn't all that common, it might be nice to use the acronym, with it all spelled out in parenthesis, the first time the acronym is used.

Not me (though I suppose I am keeping it awake now with this post). I always figured anything I had to say (on either side, and I could probably support a little of both) had already been said many times over. Even where I had some minor sympathies for a position would often be wiped out by the tact of the one making the argument.

However, this has been a very fun one to lurk, and so I smiled when I saw it rise back up today. That being said, I will go back to lurking, so as not to bump it again (though I may include an occassional fun acronym mention in other active posts).

HAHA
well i was bamboozled by them at first - esp on the resorts / restaurants boards.

but i just thought - SUCK IT UP PRINCESS - and muddled though with the help of google - though that guide should be sticky :)

At DLR CA I asked a CM about DCA. They smiled and laughed and said. That is what we call it.
