I'm new to this forum, and as Rapunzel said, "I have a dream" - so please go easy on me!

Myself, my husband and our children are going to Disney in 61 days.
Among all the planning and Disney daydreaming, I stumbled across the Memories collection online.
Wow. *perfect*

Let me explain: we got married 8 years ago and had a traditional day. Unfortunately it was left tainted by a number of people that really should know better :( Since then we have completed our family and would love to mark a happy marriage and a new phase of life with a 're-wedding', as I've been calling it, as I'd like to elope and get re-married to the man I love, with the children we love present, and forget the problems of last time!

But it is so last minute! Is it even possible??

I was hoping for a real low key affair, just us together, creating new memories in the place we feel happiest. I was thinking the Poly beach would be absolutely perfect. We are at Disney for two weeks, I would love one of those days devoted to this. We won't be able to go to Disney again until my children are all grown up, so I'm feeling very now or never...
Is it at all possible, do you think?

Not at all!!! I think Memories weddings have been planned in way less time. You should give them a call I'm sure that they'll be able to do something, especially if you'll be there for two weeks!

I agree, give them a call. It's a pretty set package so you don't have to do much work. The toughest thing would be them possibly being booked but with you being there for 2 weeks you'll have flexibility. Good luck and congratulations!

We booked our memories collection vow renewal at 70 days out (or somewhere around then) and was able to get a date no problem.
I loved the Polynesian - it was perfect!
Good luck!

Thank you so much for this! How was your day?

I can't believe I'm thinking of something so casual and personal. I have always been the complete opposite in the past! But over the years I've learned who is most important and that we don't need anything elaborate to celebrate that. I've even been looking at dresses I could wear (new ones that I bought for our trip); I have a couple of lovely lace white dresses, but am drawn towards a white one with small colourful flowers - it's less traditional, but feels more Polynesian. Once upon a time I never would have even considered a beach wedding!

I'm just hoping and praying that money goes our way now.

It was fantastic! We have a child with special needs, so the past couple of years have been very difficult on our marriage. It was wonderful to reconnect and reaffirm how much we love each other.

As soon as I return from Florida, I am hopefully going to work on my planning journal.

I bought a new dress also. I was planning on something simple, until I put my dress on and it fit like a glove! Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful. I think we sometimes forget that, as adults, we should also make time for ourselves.

Let me know if you need help with anything else.

So excited for you :)

Well I've filled in all the details online and ticked the box to ask them to call me. I don't suppose there are any UK brides here? I'm worried they won't call because I'm overseas.

It's all very exciting, and my husband is suddenly very on board with the idea! :)

Hoping and praying that there is time available and that this all works out now. Thank you so much for your help so far, I expect you will see more of me ;)

Just wanted to say Hi, just joined today so that I could say that we too are planning a memories wedding and were form the UK. We've requested 15 August, I sent our Letter of Agreement out to DFTW but it's not been received yet :confused3. I will feel a lot better once I know that everything is official. I am so excited and it's lovely to hear that there is someone else planning a memories wedding/Vow renewal from the UK :yay::yay::yay:

Hiya! Great to see I'm not alone :) And that's a lovely time of year - the day before my birthday! Though wow, Florida is going to be HOT!

I look forward to reading more from you - hopefully I wont be in so much of a post Disney depression that I miss your updates! ;)

I know we must be mad LOL, tied to the school hols, and we'd already booked to go in August then thought later why don't we get married whilst we are there, as we too stumbled across the memories package and thought hey this sounds ideal for us.

Can't wait to hear more about your plans, you've not got long to go :goodvibes

That is so lovely to read :) I hope I get to see more of it at some point if you write it up ;)

There's no chance I'll wear my wedding dress - it is a big princess style one and I think my DH will have a heart attack if I told him I need a whole case to the US just for one item! :rotfl2:

I have an idea in my head of a real real casual thing. Kind of reflects our family - being at our happiest place together, in clothes we all feel comfortable in, sharing the love. OK that all sounds a bit weird, but as you said, it's about reaffirming how much we love each other. I think this will suit us more as we are now, whereas the traditional wedding suited us 8 years ago. But I love that this would be for us and only us, with no one to spoil it!
