hi! we in WDW last year, we were too full to eat all 3 of our desserts for CS meals. we usually shared 2 of them between us (sometimes only 1)....
then i asked a table near us "are you on the dining plan"? if they said no, i handed them our 3rd dessert and told them to have a nice day!

our TS meals were almost all buffets w/ characters, so we couldn't do that.

but this year we are doing more sit down TS, and i plan to "pass it forward" then too! (you could do the same with an appitizer too)

why waste it? and you make someone elses day! :thumbsup2

I think that's a great idea if you aren't going to use it yourself. I read in another thread somewhere that one of the DIS members was the recipient of an extra dessert and it just made his entire day.

Another option is to get a voucher to come back for dessert later. I've read about a lot of people doing that. I'm not sure it would work so well now with the popularity of the DDP (since places are booked solid and the seating most likely wouldn't be available), but it's worth trying.

now that i'm thinking about it.....you could take it 1 step farther and ask another table while they are still eating their meal to pick which dessert they would like to try and order that one for them!

i just like to share the magic of it all!! :goodvibes

That might be kinda fun.... Thanks for the idea! :thumbsup2

Im normally not a very "giving" person (***begin slight sarcasm*** I grew up an only child... Im self absorbed, selfish, and arrogant! :bitelip: ***end sarcasm***) but THIS sort of behavior would give me the giggles! FUN!

I LOVE THE DISNEY DINING PLAN! HAIL HAIL THE DISNEY DINING PLAN! :woohoo:

Not trying to appear "saintly"
but last year at the end of our trip, we had a couple CS credits left. As we were leaving MK after lunch on checkout day, we handed my KTTW card to a total stranger just coming into the parks.

We explained the DP & told them about the two credits & to have a wonderful trip! This thrilled our kids, they got alot of joy out of watching their joy!

Don't know if this is considered "wrong" but it felt good to "pass it forward"!

:yay:

My plan was to buy breakfast for the people behind me in line on our last morning.

If you hand over a KTTW card, isn't the credit card still linked to that?

Yikes...didn't think of that...I guess we lucked out, we didn't have any problems. Oh, I think since the card expires on the night you check out, it was fine....don't know never thought of that!! :scared1:

How can you do that?
I desert a day is enough for most lol, how can i get a voucher?

Or if your heading back to your resort after dinner why dont you get your dessert to go especially if you have a fridge and eat it for breakfast in the morning or a late night snack. This is what I will probably be doing. I know not a healthy breakfast but. Remember one of Bill Cosby's skits and about the only one I remember. His kids want Chocolate cake in the morning and he says no but then gets to thinking about it and says ingredients eggs, flour, and milk has some of the food groups. This is a some what shortened version plus we are on vacations so healthy and diets be darn.

But paying it forward is good to I just cant see me not trying all the desserts that come with our meals because they look so good.

I don't know how they worked it because I didn't do it. I just read a bunch of posts here where people said they asked if they could have their dessert later and they were told that would be fine. I guess maybe they got some sort of voucher.

That's the coolest idea. DH doesn't usually eat dessert (he's weird... ) so we might be able to do that. might be fun especially if there's a table with kids. When I was a kid, when we went to restaurants, we rarely got to order dessert b/c there were 4 of us and it was just too expensive!

Thanks for the tip!

I'm curious about the voucher too. Although you can get the CS dessert to go and eat later, if it's hot when you're there (July for us!), most desserts would be ruined.

Which shows why you could pass it along.

We did this when we ate counter service at MGM...Toy Story Pizza Planet...we were so full we could not touch our salads....just gave them to the 1st table that said they'd like them. :)

When we were at the ASMo in Feb, you could get your receipt stamped at the food court after your meal and come back any time before midnight on the date of the receipt to get ice cream sundaes or ice cream...we used it a lot....we never asked if we could get another dessert...

FYI....these would be easy to pass it forward, because they were just stamped receipts...one happy face for every ice cream dessert....

Bump! It may seem funny but we will be sharing our meals and trying to get the best value out of them- but we will totally give away anything we won't use! It is part of the magic isn't it? :thumbsup2

We've done the DDP twice and have given ice creams to strangers both times. It's fun! Also, last Sept. we were too full to eat both our desserts at Pecos Bills and gave the extra to the table next to us. They were pleasantly surprised. The first time we used the plan we took most of our desserts back to our room, and we even threw some of them away when we left :sad2: We didn't know about getting desserts with CS-and no CM told us. The second time we shared some of our meals so we wouldn't get too full and were able to enjoy our dessert after lunch or dinner. This way we could have some of the desserts with ice cream. Yummy!

That is funny. I feel just the same! I want to get as much as I can out of the ddp but I will happily pass on what I can't use. :) I like the idea of having the receipt stamped b/c I might be too full to eat dessert but might like it later for a bedtime snack. ;)
