Okay, this is going too far....Chocolate chip cookies stuffed with Oreos. It doesn't sound appetizing and it doesn't look appetizing. They just don't go together. Homemade chocolate chip cookies should not be wrapped around a packaged cookie IMHO. :sad2: Yuck.

I could see maybe using broken up bits of oreo instead of chocolate chips, but I agree, those don't look at all appetizing.

Have you ever had a fried Oreo? The cooking and/or batter change the Oreo and make it softer and much richer. I would try this, though I suspect they'd need to be fresh out of the oven and would be too rich for most people to manage more than one. OP, do you have a link where you got this?

Oh, I think I would have to try one with a big glass of milk to know if it's good or not....anyone have an extra?

I was at a meeting last week and someone had made cookies that had broken up bits of Oreos in them. Now, I didn't try them to know how they tasted, but that seems a little silly to me. Why am I going to pay for Oreos and then still have to take the time to make cookies?

I agree, I think the cookies in the original post don't look appetizing at all! There's too much going on there!

Ummmmm, I'd be willing to try them. Someone make me a batch?

They look okay, but just fry me up five or six double stuff Oreos with a thick cake batter and cover them in powdered sugar... :)

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined. Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie. Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough. Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Makes about 2 dozen VERY LARGE cookies.

If someone makes a batch, I will be happy to man up and make the sacrifice to taste them. Just let me know and I'll send my address. I don't even eat desserts, as a rule, so it would be a completely neutral test. ;) Standing by. popcorn::

I'm seriously going to try this and I'll let you all know how they turn out. I have to bake a bunch of cookies for a Sweet 16 order anyway, I should have some batter left. I love choc. chip cookies, love Oreos, how could this be bad?!!? :hyper: :goodvibes

OK, I will step up and put my taste buds and calorie count at risk, and take one for the team...as soon as someone bakes one for me...

Well I took the plunge and made them this afternoon - very sweet but would go very well with icecream.
