Too early for Wishes Dessert Party

I booked the wishes dessert party for Jan 1st at 7:05. I saw today that Wishes is not until 10:00. O.k. The idea of the party sounds fun but not if I have to arrive 3 hours before hand. :scared1: I thought we were suppose to be there 1 hour in advance. So I called Disney Dining and she put me on hold for 10 minutes to say yes your reservation is at 7:05. She then asked are you staying at a Disney resort and I said yes she then said well they must let you in early since your staying at a resort. I said I never heard of that and she said ya we have things called magic hours. I then thanked her for her time and got off the phone.:sad2: I'm thinking of calling again and maybe I'll get someone who can tell why I have to be there that early. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe they are going to show wishes at 8:00 and 10:00? Or is there a glitch in the dining reservation system?

It's a mistake. This has been discussed on another thread, and I emailed the concierge staff at the Grand Floridian (they booked mine for me for 12/22) who confirmed that when Wishes is at 10:00, the dessert party starts seating at 9:00. It's always an hour before.

I have a ressie for the 7PM 1/1 Wishes Dessert Party too! When I saw the disney travel agent website with the January hours showing Wishes @ 10PM, I called Disney Dining to inquire. I got a kind of grumpy CM who said that she didn't have the park hours and that Wishes always happens an hour after the dessert party so they must be happening at 8, since my ressie was @ 7. She said to call back in a day or two when they do have the park hours.

I just called and got a very nice CM who had the park hours and saw that Wishes does happen @ 10PM on 1/1. After putting me on hold, she said that they will be changing the dessert party time to update to one hour before Wishes. She did tell me that it may take them a few weeks (!) to update the system, but assured me that my ressie would be updated to the correct time and not deleted. She said that only one Wishes dessert party happens each evening.

Let's keep our fingers crossed together that nothing happens to our ressies! :wizard:

Thanks you guys for the relief! My husband was the most concerned. I had a feeling it would be worked out. It's funny that DH was worried because he is a self proclaimed hater of the sweets! But he never turns them down!!! Hey momof3mouseketeers my fingers are crossed with yours that there not deleted. :goodvibes

I just tried to book for 1/1/09 and was told it had only been extended until 12/31/09?

Can you tell me what website you are using to find out what time wishes are? Thanks

I got the time for wishes off of the Disney site. Sometimes I have to go to the individual park to get the park hours and parade and firework times.

Mickey Moose- that is odd that they told you no party after the 12/31. i have a ressie for 1/1. :sad2: I would say try with another CM and if there is a party especially since they have people booked for it on 1/1 then you will have a ressie also. The only thing that could happen is that you book it then find out it is not going to happen. Or you could book it and have a great time and we worried for no reason. Goodluck!

We also have ADR for 1/1 and were told 7pm, good to know that we should really arrive around 9pm. Should be a lot of fun!
