I have read that the parks that have the extra magic hours are too crowed on those days, and that people should try and stay away from the parks that offer those extra hours. Is this true? :confused3

I would like to see what everyone has to say about it. This summer we stayed off site and could not use the EMH so we avoided the parks with EMH. How ever we staying on site in Feb and I didn't know what to do. :confused3

Not necessarily. I work in Tomorrowland and on the mornings of extra magic hours, it seems pretty dead. I mean, people are riding TTA over and over when they could be hitting up the extremely popular e tickets all over the park NOW. But they would rather take those three extra rides on Buzz. Of course it's their decision.

thanks for the info What is TTO? Sorry I'm new to this. Also do you think that parks that offer the extra evening hours are more crowded? :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

we stayed in the All Star Music when we went 4 years ago. It was great. We are going during the Mardi Gras Holidays and staying at Pop Century

Assuming you have the hopper option: For morning hours, get there at opening and leave when it gets crowded. You'll have at least an hour and, more likely 2-3 hrs without long lines at major attractions. For the evening, it's best to go later, when the parks have only resort guests.

Without the hopper option to spend the middle of the day elsewhere, I wouldn't go to any park with EMH.

We loved EMH mornings...the parks were completely dead and we walked onto every ride. Actually, the parks seemed very empty until about 11 am or so, so we got about 3 hours of walk on attractions.

However, EMH evenings were crazy. We were there at a pretty slow time of the year, yet you couldn't wade through the people on EMH evenings. The waits were ridiculous. We stayed about an hour, then left when the wait times were too long.

I think it depends what time of year you visit. We used the evening EMH for the first time during our trip last March. Our strategy was to visit a non-evening EMH park in the morning, and then head to the evening EMH park late afternoon. This seemed to work well for us, and we're planning on using the same strategy in May. We were able to ride over and over again! I didn't notice any heavy crowds during this whole trip though. I've read other posts saying the EMH in the summer are more crowded... sorry if this didn't help!

I agree with Safari Queen - go to morning EMH as early as possible. ON key rides like Space Mountain, or Buzz, you can walk right on 2 or 3 times, and then get a fast pass for later. Same thing at Epcot with TT or MS. Once the crowds roll in (usually about 2 - 3 hours after opening), head on over to another park - usually the one that had early opening the day before!

Evening EMH tends to be very crowded, at least that was our experience last year. Kind of a toss up on weather or not it's worth it. I can't wait to see what kind of crowds are at MK on a Sunday night (10pm - 1am EMH!).

Thanks for everyone's comments. We are not getting the hopper passes so, I think we will just stay away from the parks that have the extra morning and evening hours. We will be going during Mardi Gras Week (2/25 - 3/03)

My dd9 and I really enjoyed the emh in Magic Kingdon one evening during our trip in june '05. We found that most rides had a three to five minute wait with the exception being the Peter Pan ride with a wait of twenty minutes. The park closed at eleven and was crowded all evening. Once 11 came around, the cm checked for your bracelet and off you go to enjoy the rides. The crowds thinned out really fast then. We hit all of our favorites several times, including thunder mountain and sapce mountain. Plus it was the highlight of the trip for my daughter that we were the last ones on space mountain that night and the last to leave tomorrowland. We stayed at the park until closing that night 2 am!! I highly recommend extra magic hours if you can stay up late. We had no problems with crowds at all. plus there were plenty of hotel buses lined up to get everyone home.
