Will the animals still be very active in this colder weather? We were planning on going to AK tomorrow, but don't want to go if a lot of the animals will be keeping cozy somewhere out of site. Thanks for any and all input!!

I have pics of us in winter jackets with hoods and mittens on, red noses etc. I have never seen so many animals on the safari. They were everywhere basking in the sun in the cool weather.
I don't think the animals LIKE the cold so much as they are desperately seeking sunlight to try to warm themselves and therefore might be more visible than other times when they are seeking shade to keep cool during the hot summer. In many ways the animals are smarter than we are in that regard.
We were there 12/8-12/17...I can't remember which two days we went to AK, but they ended up being the 2 coldest during our stay. The animals were AMAZING on the safari! Best we have ever seen! In fact there were 3 cheetahs that were so close to us I got a little nervous! Amazing! It definately seemed that the animals LOVED the cool weather!
The only down side to going to AK on a cold day...we had to skip Kali River both days, and the top of Expedition Everest truly felt like it was going to snow up there.
