I'm trying to help my sister plan her first WDW vacation. Her family is pretty picky. Their DS only likes spaghetti so they are planning on eating at Tony's. I told her that I had her not so good reviews but we have never eaten there.

Should I suggest again to not go there or will they be happy with the spaghetti?

Thanks!

Many people love it there. But I think that once you sweep away the pixie dust that comes with dining in the MK, its really not that great a meal.

ive eaten there several times, its not that bad, its not alfredos but then your not paying that large price for spaghetti either, i usually get the 1/2 chicken panini with salad very filling and under ten dollars.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We've only been there once and we won't be back. The bread was burnt, the kids meals had the smallest portion I have ever seen in my life, the staff was very rude, etc. Overall, a very bad experience and the staff could have cared less.

:sad2: The worst spaghetti we never had in our all life was at Tony's......:scared:

Ditto! However that was in 1998. I finally gave them another chance last month and our meals were pretty good. While I would have rated our first experience there an F I would give our recent visit a B.

I've only been to Tony's once. It's not horrible, but it's def. not on my must-do list. The food was average, but not bad, and it was fine for lunch. The service was good though.

Absolutely the worst food and service I ever had anywhere, not just WDW.

I will never go there again.

Maybe we've been lucky, but we've been there at least 4 times, with at least one of those being dinner. While we've never had the spaghetti, we've had the panini's, the meatball sub, and a pork chop special. All were fine and we had no problem with service. We know it is not upscale, but it is comfortable, pleasant, and a nice afternoon break.

We very much enjoy eating at Tony's. We especially like sitting out on the porch and people watch. The food is not Alfredo's, yes, but, it is plentiful and we don't have to cook it.

Last Fall, while I was stuck in an ECV, they let me hang out in the lobby and watch Lady and the Tramp, while the Boss went back to the room to get some things. The staff was very nice and understanding. I also managed to do some Reference work while sitting.

The sauce tasted like watered down tomato paste, right out of the can. Not good. I'm not sure how old the DS is, but there are lots of places that serve pasta as a staple kids meal.

We went to Tony's in 2005 and I actully really enjoyed it. I don't remember exactly what I had, but I remember being really pleased. I've tried to search the website to see if I could remember it, it may have been some special.

it was a great location and place to eat when it was the Veranda years ago. But I think you will find that most have had bad food and bad service there. In clude me on the sub par food, and crappy service list.

To answer the title of your thread, Yes, it is that bad!

Holy cow! I guess we must have been super lucky. We went during an off hour (about 1 or 1:30) and were seated right away with out an ADR. The waitress was very nice and helpful. Our portions were very big and tasty. I couldn't take teh rest of my shrimp alfredo with me and I was bummed because I could only eat half of it. My biggest problem was I had a bit of shell still stuck on one of my shrimp. The only area that was open was just inside the verandah so it was bright and sunny. They let me walk around though so I could see the inside and took some really good pix. (Sadly, my computer crashed and we lost them. :sad1: ) DH asked that Tony's be included on our next trip.

I know my experience doesn't compare to everyone else's; I visited in Jan '07 so maybe things have changed since some of the other visits. :confused3

OK then.....I have an ADR for 7 people on 8/27 up for grabs.

Any takers??? ;)

We've never eaten at Tony's but our DD went through her pasta only phase too. I found that almost any TS that has any sort of pasta on the menu would prepare a dish of plain pasta for her. She liked noodles and butter so that saved our dining sanity!

Worst meal our family has ever had anywhere, not just Disney.
