Tony's Town Square and parade view

We want to book an ADR at Tony's Town Square at MK. We would like to watch the Electrical parade from the patio (yes I know we wouldn't be guaranteed a seat in the patio area, but we can hope/try).

I have a few questions:-

1) Is it likely to be too cold to eat outside in the patio area in mid-December?

2) Would a 5:55pm reservation or 7:10pm be better for being able to watch the 8pm Electrical Parade? I know the 5:55pm reservation is a bit too early, but I have read you sometimes have to wait for tables even in you have an ADR and if you definitely want a patio table, it is better to state this at the podium and then wait until one comes available. Not sure how my plan would work out.

5:55pm would mean less park/ride time, but would 7:10pm cut down our chances of our plan working!!?

3) Can anyone comment who has actually eaten here and watched the parade regarding the view. Is it very obstructed by people curbside? We possibly like the idea of not having to sit on the floor along Main Street waiting for the parade for hours to get a good spot and thought eating here would be a good compromise. What do you think?

I'd appreciate any comments on the above. This is the first time we have done ADRs (4th trip to Disney though) :-)

. . . when the sun goes down, absolutely possible

. . . probably

. . . you can see 1/2-top of floats
. . . ground activities can get blocked by standees

Just my opinion but I would eat somewhere else earlier in the day. Then I would get there nice and early and get a good spot on Main Street. I was disgusted at the service and food when I was there. The pasta was horrible, the sauce cold. We arrived and just didn't receive the Disney experience. Have a great time on vacation!:cool1:

The view can be very obstructed by standing crowds or just where you may be seated on the patio. I would not choose this for parade viewing.

We did this once and as stated above you can see the top half of floats, but the people on the street block the view as well as some trees if I remember correctly. We had seen it before so we thought we'd try it, but definitely did not enjoy it as much as being on the ground. If you do make the reservation, I would go with the later time, but with the new FP+ possibility, would consider eating earlier, and try to get a FP for parade later. Or if you did the earlier time, you'd probably be done a little after 7 and could grab a good spot on the circle - that is where we've had the best view when we hopped there late one night and walked in and got a spot on the curb. We're hoping the FP+ for the parade will become available so we can get a good spot and stay for Wishes.
