Tonys is one of my favorite places to eat. I'm always baffled at the bad reviews it gets but maybe I know everyone has different expectations. My family and I eat there every trip, must do. The mixed green salad is to die for, and I love the Chicken Parm. Another favorite is the NY Strip!
We had our only experience at Tony's this fall. The food was fair at best. It was about 2 notches below Olive Garden. Pastas were overcooked and things were bland/boring overall. We did enjoy the desserts and the feel of the restaurant.
We loved The Plaza. Great sandwiches, a chef's salad on the kids' menu (which thrilled my 7yo), and huge, wonderful sundaes for dessert. By far our favorite place for lunch in the Magic Kingdom.
My DW and I observed a maître d' one night at Tony's that was wound as tight as Cogsworth. A family kept moving around chairs at their table as more members would sit down. The best part of the meal was waiting for the poor chat to blow!
