I'd love to hear some reviews, good and bad, about Tony's and The Plaze in MK. Haven't tried either and starting to consider it for upcoming trip.

TIA

Whenever anyone asks about the Plaza, it shows up as a sleeper favorite! I love this place. It's pretty and they serve really nice sandwiches. Everything seems nice a fresh. You will usually find a lot of nice posts about this place.

Tony's on the other hand gets quite a few mixed reviews. The food is just OK and it's on the expensive side. But some people enjoy it. We go because I totally love Lady & the Tramp. The place is very pretty and spacious. Some people try to time their meal with a parade, I think.

I'm not a big fan of Tony's. Maybe I'm just spoiled as I have a Maggiano's Little Italy close to my house.

I did have their Spaghetti and Meatballs once, and it was okay. I would probably give it a try if you've never eaten there. It's certainly not 'bad' food.

I know I've eaten at the Plaza, but I can't remember anything that stands out about the food. I recall it being a decent enough sandwich shop.

The Plaza is really good, nice, light but filling food. We've made it a tradition to eat here our first day.
Tony's...eh...
We're in NY and get way better Italian food! But, the restaurant itself is cute and dessert is good.

Oh the Plaza!!! I love the Plaza! I have never had a bad sandwich there. The shakes are great too. Just 2 weeks ago I had the cheesesteak and it was wonderful. My DH recommends the tuna sandwich. But also topping the charts is the grilled chicken sandwich....I guess I like most things there!!!

Tony's~ I have had lunch and dinner there before. For whatever reason, I enjoyed my early lunch there better than dinner. Price wise it was better for sure!!!

We haven't done Tony's in a few years, but we always enjoyed our meals there. We preferred lunch over dinner--the pace was a little slower--not so rushed, not as crowded, smaller portions.

The Plaza is a must do for us every trip. After all the heavy meals we eat on the dining plan, we like to end our trip having lunch at the Plaza for a lighter meal. The sandwiches are huge, the fries very good, the milkshakes very tasty and the desserts -- :worship:

Here are a few pictures from our trip in September (please note that they no longer have the german potato salad--it's been switched to brocolli slaw):

We've done lunch at the Plaza and it was absolutely wonderful. Never been to Tony's - the reviews on the DIS always scare me off! ;)

I'm not a big fan of Tony's. Maybe I'm just spoiled as I have a Maggiano's Little Italy close to my house.

I love Maggianos - the chicken stuffed crepes are my fav

We are trying the Plaza next trip...I have also read some great reviews about this place.

I haven't eaten at the Plaza, but I really liked Tony's during our trip in May. The waiter was a little odd, though. Our boys had hats that said "Police" on them--off inside, of course--and he asked dh was a cop. Dh replied that he's a reserve officer (during his downtime; his "real" job is as an active duty military member), that both of his parents are/were cops, and that public service is a huge part of our lives (the boys have just grown up around it). The waiter then mentioned how he hated that cops "police." We found it strange and felt a bit uncomfortable the rest of the time we were there. We were there for food, not debate, kwim?

The food itself was good, though. Dh liked his calamari and seafood diablo, I enjoyed my mozzarella and tomato appie and my chicken parmesan, and the boys both enjoyed their meals. I had no complaints at all about it, just the waiter.

I'm a fan of the Plaza, it's very simple. It's nice for a break from the crowds. I think it's just a step up from Counter Service, but it's nice to be served every now and then in Disney where it won't hurt your pocket!

As for Tony's, we've eaten there once and haven't been back. I found it very bland.

What's the price range for The Plaza? Just curious. I'd like to try it next trip and just want to know what to expect. Thanks!

we ate at Tony's in October and I was not impressed. we were seated about 1 hour after our adr. The waitress was extremely unpleasant and the food was average and expensive. I'm trying the plaza my next visit.

We've never eaten at The Plaza - is it a TS - do I need an ADR or can you just walk up and get in?

The Plaza is a TS. You should make an ADR, but a lot of times it's available on short notice. My parents live in the area, so we've made spontaneous trips up to the MK where we've called that morning or the night before and were able to get in.

We dined at Tony's on our trip and wont be returning. The restuarant itself was very charming. We were seated 45 min past our ADR and there was no where for us to sit , the entire waiting area was full. The waiter was great to other patrons who were not on the dining plan but we felt he treated us differently. Other waiters actually paid us more attention when it came to serving our food and refiling our drinks. Ours asked us when we were seated if we were on the plan (they do this at every restuarant I think) and his face fell when we said we were. No more smiles from him, but he was wonderfull with other tables. The food was ok, nothing fantastic. Dessert was great.

Tony's is my children's favorite place to eat in all of WDW. Good spaghetti and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it too. It is the only dining spot that we do not miss!

We had terrible service and food during our may trip to Tony's. The waitress was terrible, never asking if we wanted refills, etc. The food was very blah...We were very upset that we wasted a dinner here during our 8 night trip. I would pick another place so you dont waste your time. There are wonderful places in and around the magic kingdom ( Crystal Palace, LTT, O'hana at Poly, Grand Floridian Cafe etc)
Have fun!

I am so glad to read all the wondeful reviews about The Plaza - my DD picked this one for our upcoming trip!

We did eat at Tony's last trip and it wasn't awful, but I wouldn't say it was great either. I probably wouldn't choose it again only because there are so many TS options available.

The Plaza is a nice alternative to a CS meal. Prices are not bad for Disney, the food is good and fresh, it's a nice break in the a/c and it's fairly quiet. We've been with a nearly 2 year old and the only con was we felt that he was a tornado compared to the calm atmosphere of the Plaza.

We will consider going again this April since the youngest is now 4.
