Hi all,
I am trying to book all our dinners fro our trip in August. We seem to have a lot of buffets booked. I was looking for someplace in MK where we can order from a menu. Tony's seems like a nice place. Any thoughts on that or suggestions of other places?

Tony's seems to get alot of bad reviews for some reason. We have ate here three times for dinner and had a great meal and good service everytime. My only complaint would be the wait time even with a ADR, that being said it was a MNSSHP night and it was very crowded. We are going again for dinner in September. I would definitly give it a try!

Lots of people are going to say that it's "disgusting". DD, MIL and I ate there for lunch in May of 2010 and thought it was lovely. We're having another lunch there in a few weeks at DD insistence.

We really like Tony's. On no occasion do I endorse paying $15 for spaghetti, but compared to other Disney restaurants, it's fairly reasonable! :rotfl:The atmosphere is great, too! :thumbsup2

Tony's is pretty gross. :scared:  I do not call that italian food, there's no way. it was so gross, I think their marinara sauce is terrible.

Their atmosphere is pretty lousy too. very cold and uninviting IMHO.

If you want to order from a menu, go to LTT for lunch (dinner is good too thou). Or maybe even go to a nearby resort like Kona, Ohana, GF.

If you are still thinking about going to Tony's, then i'd stay away from tomato sauce. Everyone who i spoke with who enjoyed their meals had a dish WITHOUT the nasty tomato sauce. Lol.

My family went to Tonys once and it was just okay. We're not really fond of any of the MK dining options. There are better options at the resorts. The Wave, Kona, and O'hana are all good choices.

If Tony's is "good" italian food...

then Papa John's is "world class pizza"

It is pretty bad...though i'll say...i've had some good meals there too. The last was in 2007 though. You kinda have to avoid the pasta dishes...if that makes any sense. They are sponsored by i believe Contadina (it may be something else now...but crappy store bought product just the same) and they basically are pouring their out of a can, high school cafeteria type marinara on the dishes.

So you have to get something else...like a non-tomato based dish.

I actually booked if for the end of the month...only because we need to mix it up a little and cycle around.

But The MK is not where to go for food...as others have said.

The plaza is a decent sandwich shop. Crystal Palace is usually good or above average. Liberty Tree has a good lunch but the dinner has gone way downhill - and without the specialty characters its a definite skip, and cinderellas has bad food - no ifs ands or buts about it.

Tony's can be pretty bad...or good if it breaks right.

As others have said...might be better to try kona or whispering canyon outside.

Avoid the WAVE...your stomach's sure to drown in it.

No matter what the restaurant at WDW there will be people who love it, and people who hate it. We've eaten at Tony's several times over the years and have enjoyed it every time. Its not high end Italian but is very good casual dining with excellent service every time.

We liked Tony's. Is it a five star restaurant? Of course not. I'll call it equal to or a tiny step above the Olive Garden. The atmosphere is darling and if you like Lady and the Tramp, you'll appreciate it. :thumbsup2 I agree with the PP who said you'll get varied responses on almost all the restaurants. We didn't like CRT or Chef Mickey's food and a lot of people seem to love it.

The portions are big enough to share and both times the service was excellent.

As a PP said, some ppl are going to love it and some are going to hate. You're not going to know how you like it until you try it. That's what we told ourselves and we're going to eat there when we go in Sept. But if you don't want to try that, we have eaten at the Plaza and DH loved his burger and I loved my Plaza Club. We also ate at Liberty and it was delicious too. DH got a burger (noticing a theme here? :lmao:) and I got the Pilgrim's Feast (the clam chowder was good too). Have a great time on your trip :goodvibes.

WE have eaten there 3 times and enjoyed it. I do believe we have always had the sandwhichs and steaks. We preferred the dinner menu over lunch menu. Magic Kingdom just doesn't have many choices for "nice meals". We enjoyed Tony's but would rather go to Kona or O'hana's and it is an easy trip from the MK. If you take the monorail or the resort's boat it only takes a few minutes.

DH likes Tony's more than I do. Our last dinner there was Dec. 30th, the park was very crowded and we did have a long wait. However, we were seated outside, which was great because we enjoyed watching the crowd and some of the electrical parade. I forget what I had, but I enjoyed mine much more than I had before. We'll definitely go again.

Tony's is DISGUSTING! I wouldnt even recommend this place to my worst enemy.

If you really REALLY MUST go, stay away from the tomato based dishes as other posters have said. Its BAD. Tastes terrible.

Plaza has good burgers and fantastic fries. Liberty Tree for lunch is great. We've always had good meals at Crystal Palace. I'd basically pick anywhere but Tony's.

We only ate there once in 2007 for dinner, but add us to the "thumbs down" list! I thought our service was poor (for Disney) and the food was nothing spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. It was pretty crowded, but it was a Friday night. I just wasn't impressed. I'd try something else, but right now I'm at a loss as to what....we did lots of buffets in MK too.

Tony's was okay. I can't recall anything I ate there, but DD says it was the best spaghetti ever! I think that's what I had, in honor of Lady & the Tramp, but it wasn't memorable. I'd say it's a step below Olive Garden. Nothing was horrible.

We tried Tony's for the first time last August. It was just ok. We all thought Olive Garden was better. We enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch much better than Tony's for dinner. We have no plans to go back. MK really needs some better table service choices.
