Has anyone eaten there latey? If so, what is your opinion? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Have never eaten there but I just booked a PS yesterday. We'll dine there and then we'll head out to the park for the Saturday evening Night of Joy.

I'll be glad to hear what others comment.

Peace,
Viki ::yes::

I usually try to be a positive poster here on the DIS boards but when the subject of Tony's comes up I must be honest and say....
YUCK!!!:crazy2: This is the singular worst restaurant experience we have ever had in our 3 trips to WDW. Service was poor and the food was poor as well!

I know others like it but I will not eat there again!

Haven't dined there any time recently, but I see a lot of negative comments here on the boards:confused:

I'm sorry to say but it's really bad.... and it takes a lot for me to say that. We even tried it a second time because maybe the first was just a bad day. Needless to say, we won't ever go back. It's a shame because the location and atmosphere are wonderful!!!!

We were there a couple of weeks ago. Location, theming, and view are good. Food was only OK, based on the price. Even by WDW standards this is an expensive restaurant IMHO for what you get. Big plate of spaghetti ws $18.50 and good but nothing special. My pork ($22 I think) was slightly overcooked, as was my husband's fish (mahi-mahi?) DS had kids pizza which was good and not as expensive..... Wouldn't discourage anyone from going, just be aware that you're definitely going to be spending $$$.....

My husband and I eat there for lunch every trip--last trip 2/04.
We love the sauce dip for the bread and the salad dressing.
He usually has a pizza and I get the pasta of the day.
We have never had a bad experience and will be heading there again in Oct.
The atmosphere is great!

Thanks for all of your input. I think we will cross it off our dinner list.

Thanks sherry8253 I was planning on eating there also and now plan to cross it off my list too

We ate Thanksgiving 2001 dinner there - we planned our trip to Disney kind of at the last minute and it was one of the few restaurants that had any PS's left (the first clue that it isn't one of the best). The food was OK, nothing to write home about. Salad was good, potatoes pretty good, dressing not great, but turkey I believe was pressed - not pure turkey fresh off the bone.

We did have a good time and really enjoyed it because we sat by the patio and the parade went by. It made for a special moment but I wouldn't go back for the food.

We've never really been drawn to Tony's because we thought it would just be an "Olive Garden" inside WDW, but I'm curious about the theming, as others have pointed it out as notable. Is it Lady/Tramp-oriented, or is it just a generic "nice atmosphere"? It'd be great if it were themed after the movie, but we've never gone inside, so I'm a bit curious!

You just can't beat eating on Main Street like that. We only ate there once and I agree that the food was mediocre and completely overpriced but we sat on the porch outside and that was fantastic. However, there are some rocking chairs in that same vicinity that would be much cheaper to sit in and enjoy the view and ambiance!! ;)

I've heard some terrible reviews of this place. I've eaten lunch there twice and enjoyed it. The service was great and I remember liking my salad and pasta. Maybe it's different at lunch time

Hi! I have been so disappointed in the reviews of Tony's recently - it saddens me that a restaurant with such great ambience has not been getting good reviewsl :(

We ate breakfast there about 6yrs. ago and it is one of our fondest memories of Disney. The fountain with Lady and The Tramp was wonderful . The breakfast was even tasty - especially the french toast. We really enjoyed our meal and always looked forward to going back. Then it was closed for renovations and when it opened for lunch and dinner only it seems to not be the same.

We ate there for New Year's Eve and all 7 of us (from mid-40's to 4 years old) liked the food. Yes, it's expensive. But all sit-down restaurants are expensive. We'll be returning for next New Year's Eve!

We have always enjoyed our dining at Tony's! I know $18 for spaghetti and meatballs is outrageous, but its disney. We also love the bread with the dipping sauce, all we have ever gotten was the spaghetti and meatballs and have never been disappointed.

:sunny:

We made a PS for last June here. I was a little unsure because of the bad reviews I hear of this place! BUT I am so glad I decided to try it myself, we had a WONDERFUL meal here!!!

Yes, it was expensive but really what isn't expensive at Disney?!?!

I had the spaghetti & bread sticks, DS had the kids' pizza (he finished it all....very unusual since he isn't a huge eater). I also had oone of their smoothies in a take home Lady & the Tramp mug. It was delicious, especially on a warm & muggy day.

We had a Noon PS & it wasn't overly crowded. Our servers name was Shannon & she was A+. She also got Tramp's paw print in my son's autograph book for him ;)

We would eat here again in a heartbeat!

Dined here for lunch last year and thought it was just so-so. I would not go running back there anytime soon.

We wound up here on a Saturday Night in the MK because we did not have PS anywhere, they said they could seat us and we were sold.

We were surprised the food was really good, expensive, but good. My husband had the seafood pasta and I had the eggplant. We thought the service was great and the atmosphere was good for our daughter, 4 at the time.

Hope this helps.
