Hello Friends

I'll admit....I've never tried Tony's Town Square restaurant at Magic Kingdom before because of the negative press it always gets! We were at MK last week, and just wanted a small lunch on our way out and noticed Tony's only had a 5 minute wait. They had a lot of interesting-sounding appetizers on the menu, so how bad could it really be we thought?

We split a cheese pizza and Caesar salad....and, I'm sorry, but.....YUM! Both were very flavorful and well presented, and with a couple of Stella's, our lunch was very reasonable too! Service was good as well.

Give Tony's a try, folks!

At least Olive Garden has people who want to work!

Post us a picture of your Tony's lunch if you have one. Been a while since I saw their pizza

Would love to hear from someone who had entrees aside from Pizza if there has been any improvement. I did not like my meal, and nobody in my family did either, in 2017. Our first and last time at Tony's. We went there because they had a parade viewing deal. Maybe we should have ordered pizza! Good idea for next time. As for Olive Garden, used to be my favorite 20 years ago. Its gone way downhill in recent years. But their salad/soup is still good. Now if Disney could open something comparable to Cheesecake Factory, Id be in heaven!!!

Well we saw some mighty nice-looking chicken parm delivered to the table next to us!

Haven't been back to Tony's since 2008. My husband has been wanting to go back. I've managed to talk him out of it so far but eventually I'll have to give in.

Hi, we just returned from WDW last night (sniff!), and we ate at Tony's on Wednesday (09/01/21). I had the salmon with polenta (the sustainable fish special that day) and it was great! The salmon was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mushroom ravioli and he ate every bite. I had always heard bad comments about Tony's as well, but our experience was very pleasant. The wait staff were very attentive and the setting is lovely. Give it a go - just remember it is not authentic Italian and you should not be disappointed.

We ate here a couple weeks ago and it was good. Tony's had a bad rap for years but I believe that in the last few years they changed chefs and its really gotten much better. Is it an authentic Italian restaurant...no...but its not as bad as some say.

I could not agree more. We finally decided to eat at Tony's and the service was excellent. Food was just fine too!!

Like the OP, we hesitated to book Tony's because of the bad reviews. Then we decided to try it a few years ago, and it was great. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs, and I had chicken parm. The bread service was good. The food was not what we expected. It was really good as was the service. I asked the server what was going on, and he said they had a new chef who was getting great reviews. So, I will book it again, if we every go back.

Hmmmmm DH vowed never again after our second terrible Tony’s meal, but with the Plaza and Skipper Canteen menu changes and recent good reviews...I may try to book it for our trip. We do still make the zucchini fries at home, so at least we had that positive from our other two visits LOL

Thats what my husband got last time. He is not picky at all and didnt like it. I stuck with a simple pasta dish and the sauce was really gross. At home I use whatever is on sale out of a jar. Cant get much less authentic, but Tony's managed. My best guess is it was Hunts out of a can, then watered down some.

We went last month. DH got the chicken parmigiana, I had spaghetti and sausage, kids all had spaghetti and meatballs. Of course we had bread and mozzarella bites. Everything was piping hot. Service was speedy but not rushed. Very clean. Food was decent...DH and I called it olive garden upscaled. It wasn't as good as the Italian food we have at home but it was a lot better than Italian food we have gotten on other vacations.

Our chicken parm was really good, so I guess different days or different tastes make a difference? I love chicken parm and have tried it at several Italian restaurants, so I like to feel like I know good CP, :) I think you can have an excellent meal one day and a not so great meal the next at the same restaurant.

Very true! Maybe I will give it try another time if they offer some sort of package. The good part about our first/last time was we got a package that include VIP viewing of the 3pm parade on the day my nieces were dancing in it! And another highlight was the raspberry sorbet dessert!

I like Olive Garden so I have no credibility. But then, I'm pretty sure I don't have a clue what authentic Italian food is.

Coming from the northeast (same county where Pete Werner is from), you wouldn't catch me in an Olive Garden, ever.

Not to say that the food at Tony's is bad, it's just not authentic Italian. So, to many, it's suitable, or even great.

That's the joy of WDW... there is something with everybody. :earsboy:

I detest Olive Garden, spent 2 years in Italy, so have avoided Tony’s like the plague. But I do like a real, good Italian meatball, and with the reviews here and elsewhere, we have dinner reservations here for Oct 1. Willing to give it a try.
