I've read that captain cooks at the poly also has the tonga toast. Is this true? If so is it as good as Kona cafe?

Lots of Hoosiers on the boards today :)

I would be willing to bet that it comes from the same kitchen (now watch me be wrong ;))

I would love to be able to get it at captain cooks if it was cheaper and quicker and tasted just as good.

I've had tonga toast from Captain Cook's and Kona Cafe and they tasted the same, IMO.

I had it at CC and thought it was good.......sweeeeet, but good.

The Tonga Toast tasted the same to me! And I enjoyed eating outside, the surroundings were so peaceful...

I haven't tried it at CC, but have had it at Kona. I think it's the same, except you don't get the sides at CC, Just the Tonga Toast. yum

What is it???

it a fried toast stuffed with bananas and then rolled in and sugar, it is very very sweet and wonderful!!! they serve a strawberry sauce on the side that i never got around to using, because it was sweet enough :goodvibes we had it last trip and and while i wouldn't have it everyday it is a nice treat.

How about a pic. It is in the top of the pic. It is very good but very filling. It does come with bacon or sausage but if you want potatoes you have to get them seperate. My mom and I could split a piece if we wanted. I have never had it from the Kona Cafe just from CC.

I do not get it? The appeal that is of the Tonga toast, I tried a couple of pieces of it in May. Omg, it is so sweet! I think I make better french toast! lol
sorry, I went with the healthy egg white omelet.:confused3

I love it!! But it is filling and you really can't eat a lot of it. But to answer the question it is the same recipe, it is just put on a prettier plate at Kona's.:)

Party pooper. :rotfl:

OMG...LOVE LOVE LOVE Tonga Toast from CC's.:goodvibes It is very sweet so I always get a side of sausage to go with (would love to have bacon but WDW bacon sucks) It is so filling that I am good to go until dinner time.

Mmmmm...Tonga Toast. DH and I had it one year at Kona and loved it. When I learned we could get it at Capt Cook's instead we started going there. Plus we can easily split one piece of it...it's so filling but yummy!

It's a must do on our next trip!
:cool1:

It saves us a table service when we go to CC. There is no Strawberry Sauce. Which is okay with me. Will be enjoying this breakfast on May 13!

Can you use a Counter Service credit for the tonga toast and Captain Cook's? Been craving it but dont want to use table service credit. Thanks.

The only difference I found was this-Kona serves with a strawberry sauce and CC does not. :thumbsup2
