TOMS at Disneyland?

This year I'm going to try the switching shoes method to try and avoid some blisters and sore feet as much as possible. I have FILA athletic (not sure if running or walking) shoes and a red pair of TOMS. Both shoes I find to be extremely comfy, but I never really do too much walking in them. Almost every year since I can remember I've worn converse to the park, and always come home with big blisters and extremely sore feet.

Has anyone worn TOMS at Disneyland? How do the hold up?

My plan is to start the day wearing my TOMS and then put my FILAs on when we go back to our hotel for our mid day break. I also bought some athletic socks that are supposed to absorb moisture to prevent blisters and have extra arch support in the middle. They're Adidas brand.

I have talked to SO many people who say they are the most comfy things to have on your feet, and I saw plenty of happy looking people of all ages and sizes wearing them at Disneyland. I spoke with a woman about her shoes while out and about locally, and she offered up the info that she wore them all over WDW and didn't get a single blister.

They look like absolutely nothing, but they seem to be good.

Of course, what works for one person doesn't always work for another, so why not plan a big day of walking (maybe the zoo?) and see?

But as for blisters, etc, with your Converse, I find that it's the socks more than the shoes in many cases. I was a long-term hold-out, but I finally gave sweat-wicking socks a try and I am now SOLD. The cotton socks destroyed my feet; the moisture-wicking socks are great. They can really make or break a day, assuming the shoe fits in all other ways.

I wore my TOMS every day on my June DL trip. They were so comfy that i didn't need to wear anything else. Another bonus is they don't take up much room in your suitcase :)

If you do end up getting a blister I swear by the band-aids for blisters, they work great. :goodvibes

I have a suggestion for you. Skechers Go Walk. They look kinda like Toms but not as cute but they are so comfortable. I had back surgery in Aug and it affected my foot. While my back is better my foot is not and these shoes have been wonderful. I could totally see me walking around Disney in them. Good luck!

If you don't mind the TOMS' tan lines then they're great!!! I love wearing my uggs too. Its okay to wear uggs almost anytime of year in the OC!

Ditto for the Skechers Go Walk shoes! :thumbsup2

I wasn't sure that I would be able to wear these everyday - but I did, no problem.

I'm curious about Toms - I was thinking of getting a pair for my December trip.

I love wearing my Toms in the parks, but my DH can't wear his because his arches have fallen and the large amount of walking at DL takes a toll on his feet. So it really depends on the person. If you don't need a lot of arch support, then Toms are great. If you need a lot, Toms probably aren't for you. Have fun! :goodvibes

Both my kids wear their Toms to all theme parks. They never have blisters or sore feet.

Also just tried neosporin plus PAIN and it worked amazing! I would pack that and certainly try it underneath a blister bandaid. Worked great on my cut that almost took off my finger!

Just back from 5 days in the parks, and my DD3 and I each took two pairs of TOMS and traded them off each day. They are our favorite shoes for the parks! Very comfortable, and I've never had a blister or hot spot from them. But again, it depends on what works best for you and your foot! But I think they are great!

Totally agree with this. Everyone is different with their different issues. I have Bobs, not Toms (the skecher version) and I love to wear them around town. They are extremely comfortable, even with my flat feet. But if I have to walk as much as at Disneyland, there is no way I would make it. I have terrible shin splints and have to wear athletic shoes with the extra cushion in them or my legs are toast by the end of the first day.

Not at Disneyland, but I have worn my TOMS all day to events where I'm standing/walking and they have worked out great. Though I think I'm still going to bring my sneakers for DLR too.

I love my Toms and they are comfortable... but I don't think I would want to wear them for the whole day with all the walking you do in the parks.

Well that's why I'm going to bring my sneakers and switch half way through the day. (:
