Hello all,
My mom and I are going to be in the land in May.
we would like to do this, but I am concerned that it is more out of the way and not a great people watching spot. Fireworks would be great but you can't count on that.
Has anyone done this yet?
Any info and pictures would be awesome.
Thanks

I have not done it but when asked about it for our last trip in December i did not get good feedback. Mainly because fireworks are not guaranteed and also the experience didn't seem worth the price. We opted to not do it.

Hopefully others who have done it can share their experience.

DH and DD 13 went to it in July. I booked it for them because my DH cannot stand to jockey for a position for fireworks, can't stand people pushing their way in front of him, enjoys his own space to sit down, etc. Operationally, there were some issues with checking in (had to check in at two different spots and stand in two longer lines), seating (they hold the comfy couch spaces for parties larger than 2), and flow of getting the desserts (had to balance dessert box and beverage in hands while going through the line). The whole idea was for this to be a respite from standing in long lines, so DH was not thrilled with having to stand in not one, but two different lines. He and DD had to sit on ottomans and balance their desserts on their laps, they had no table. It was uncomfortable.

The pictures with Minnie were super cute, and I am glad to have them.

The overall experience did not meet their expectations. Once home, DH sent an email to Guest Services to share his experience so that management of this experience would gain knowledge of the guest experience and could possibly look to modify the check-in procedures and improve the flow. Hopefully someone who has done this experience recently will chime in and share details. My hope is that things have improved. If so, I would be tempted to try again on our next visit.

That sounds really disappointing. :( So glad he sent an email to Guest Services.

We are in a customer-focused industry ourselves, so he was happy to provide the feedback. What he suggested was for members of their team to look at this from the guest's point of view and maybe even book themselves for it and go through the lines, uncomfortable seating, balancing food and drink to get a better idea of how it could be improved.

I marvel at the photos of your daughter through the years -- absolutely precious! What treasured memories!

I think that was an awesome and very specific suggestion. I hope they do it!

And thanks for the kind words. The Disney photos through the years are definitely very cherished. We've made some great memories. :)

Some people like it, but I didn't think it was worth the money for the experience, especially for people who are not passholders and go often to the parks. You get two hours, if I remember correctly, to sit in an out of the way area with 60's styled desserts (think ding dongs, ho hos, etc.), and games to play. Mickey and Minnie visited us when we were there, and the games were fun, but I don't go to Disneyland to hang out on a balcony and play board games. We didn't get the fireworks that night, but I think that even if we did have that opportunity I would have the same reaction.

I have a friend who has gone with her adult daughter and they both enjoyed it - they are also annual passholders.

Wow
I was afraid it might be a disappointing experience.
Just thinking of where it is does seem very out of the way.
Thank you all for the feedback.
I sure hope it does improve.
