Tomorrowland Light & Power

According to the Orlando Sentinel the Tomorrowland Game Arcade will be closing February 8.

"The Tomorrowland Arcade at the Magic Kingdom will close February 8 and the non-prize games will be sent to the hotel arcades."

Does anyone know what will be happening to Tomorrowland Light & Power?

All retail space?
MDE Service center?
Frozenland of the Future(Just kidding!(I think.)
Something else?

I'm gonna say...something that generates more money than the arcade. I'll go with retail.

No idea...but I'd really like to see Tomorrowland receive some updates. Between the Tomorrowland movie and Big Hero 6, there are enough futuristic concepts floating around in new Disney creations that something good needs to overflow into Tomorrowland. Or really...if Imagineering were allowed to look toward the retro posters that are throughout that portion of the park...some really fun things could come to light.

I'd like a cool Space Mountain post-show are with interactive games, like many Epcot attractions have (like Mission: SPACE). They could keep some retail space too for the Space Mountain specific merchandise.

That arcade was pretty lousy and never busy. An alternate use for the space is welcome.

How about a whole bunch of them middle of the mall $2 massage chairs to cure the aching bones from the spine rattling fun that you just encountered in space....

It is an issue with some Florida gaming laws. Because WDW's arcades are mostly card-operated and can, by technicality, award prizes of over 75 cents' value, they may be in violation. They are playing it safe in accordance with the law.

The could just install some state of the art games that don't give prizes but of course that would require them to want to stay up to date.

I'd love to see something like a cross between Innoventions and Disney Quest with interactive games and rides. Maybe tie the themeing in with the Tomorrowland movie.
