........ the neighborhood Dairy Queen shuts its doors until March, at the very earliest.:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

No more banana splits, no more Earthquake Brownies, or Pecan Mudslides. Farewell, Mister Misty - you were indeed a true and beloved friend during all those hot and humid summer days.

Goodbye cheeseburgers, fries, and chicken strip baskets - you saved the day many a dinner time when I was too "tired" or lazy to cook.

I eagerly await for the return of spring,
Pam

Be thankful it has been open this long...
The one we go to has been closed for a month...:(
Yes, Goodbye chocolate shakes, footlongs, & fries

Shep,
I tell you what I will do, old buddy, old pal. I am going to march over there today and consume a footlong, large fry, and chocolate shake - just in honor of you, my friend!!;)
Pam

I just had a Pecan Mudslide Sunday night!! :smooth: The Dairy Queen in Mt. Pleasant stays open ALL YEAR LONG!!!!

Chatty,
A DQ open all year round in Michigan??!! Ummmmm.... it gets pretty cold in Michigan, do you sit around in parkas while eating your frozen confections??;)
Pam

Nope - no Sonic. I believe the closest one is over Shep's way - and that's about a 6 hour drive for me. (Never ate at a Sonic, either!)

Thanks..
That one I mentioned is the local ice cream place(well it's not really a dq but that's where we go)...There is a DQ that is open year round but we never eat there...:o

LOL!! It's located in a strip mall, right at the end, and it's a college town so maybe that's why they don't close at the end of the "season." I think the one in Greenville stays open all year too, it's a larger building with lots of seating, more like a McDonalds or Burger King...and come to think of it, the one in St. Johns stays open all year too!!! Maybe you just need to move to Michigan to get your "D.Q. fix!!" :D

Oh my. How sad.:( I have atleast 3 Sonics within a 30 mile range of me (one is only 10 miles away;)). Why is DQ closing?

I guess that is one advantage to living in Florida. All the DQ's stay opened all year round. The Rita's Italian Ice store did use to close during the winter. But, I guess they figured out that even with our cold snaps we still eat ice cream and such.

We have some that stay open and other's that don't.

I have to have my cherry Mr. Misty.

Pam -

I feel your pain. Good bye until next Spring, Dilly Bars.

LOL! Even up here in Canada, 2 out of 3 DQs here in town stay open all year! They used to close both of them down, and then they built a new one in our end of town that is a full restaurant, so it stayed open all year, and then they redid one in the other end of town to be the same (except it has a donut store in the other end). So now only the little old fashioned one that only has walk-up closes after our Thanksgiving (the middle of October).

Pam, you have my heartfelt condolences!!;) Come to Virginia...ours never close!

DH's family (cousins) owns a lot of those DQ's in the Harrisburg, PA area, and one in Gettysburg. I believe they all close for the season

We don't even have DQ in Rhode Island...but we should have our first Krispy Kreme in a few months!!!!!
