...is the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution! 200 years of volunteers, funded by charitable donations, saving lives at sea, no matter what the emergency, who the people in peril are. There have been tragedies along the way - such as the Salcombe Lifeboat Disaster, where a crew launched to their death - but the amazing service these crews do for us is exemplary.

Hehe, nah, we live on the coast next to a Lifeboat station with two craft, and follow the ins and outs of our local crew with interest.
