This seems to be a pretty popular attraction. What am I missing? Long lines. Smelly exhaust. For an attraction that boils down to the a terrible go-cart ride. We passed on it on our first trip and as of now will pass on it again. Anyone have a reason we should do it?

To some people it's pretty lame, but to my 5 year old, it's one of the best rides EVER! I can see where it would be hit and miss with some kids, but my son loved being able to drive us around:) We rode it a few times on our last trip.

We went this past November. The last time I went was when I was a kid a (A long time ago). This November when we went my husband and daughter all agreed it was not worth it. It was really not much fun at all. I could not wait to pull back in and get out! The most fun we had was picking up the hat of someone who dropped it ahead of us and presenting it to him at the end of the ride.

Accurate summation, IMHO. Middle daughter loves Autopia at DL which is much more scenic, but was keenly disappointed in the WDW version. Some kids love it, but unless you have one of those, not worth it.

My son loved it at age 4, and will likely go multiple time at our next visit in a few months at age 6. That being said, I'm a gear head, I work in racing, and also race as a hobby, so he may be predisposed :rolleyes1. I'll be curious on his take of it it this time, as he now has a go kart of his own that is faster than these karts. It is fun to "race" others though.

My kids love driving the car.

Once you reach driver's license age, it likely loses its appeal. I don't need to drive it ever again. But I will of my kids want me to. But only if I am not pregnant and have my husband drive behind me (old neck injury and while it isn't much if an issue, I don't need someone else using my car as their bumper car target).

Quite frankly, I am enjoying my respite. But all 4 of my kids still enjoy the ride.

We only do it because my daughter is young and "driving" the car is fun to her. I really think they should redo it, it is so outdated.

It is my least favorite ride in all of WDW for the reasons already mentioed. My DS at age 8 (on our first trip) got a kick out of it. By age 10 he passed on it and I was so glad!

As others have said...it's strictly a kids ride...My son loves "driving" the car around the track and especially has fun letting the car bang back and forth on the track jostling mom. He's hoping this year to be tall enough to reach the gas pedal himself.

Not altogether different from Dumbo. Just louder and more malodorous. Kids love it. Parents have to endure it. Kids love pretending that they are grown up and driving a car. After you have your driver's license, it's hard to comprehend. When you are 9 it can be really cool.

Remember that there's reaching the gas pedal, and then there's reaching the gas pedal, having the rear on the seat, being able to see over the steering wheel, and being able to steer all at once.

My son is 10, tall, but I still have to help him. His height is in his torso and he cannot (last time we went) yet do all of that at once, even though he already reached the ride-alone height stick.

I love car rides. I have loved them since I was little and I still love them. Had my license since '86, even.

I haven't ridden it since my first trip in 2000, but during our last trip in October, DH rode it with our 4 year old niece and had fun riding with her. She had a blast "driving" it and racing her parents and "beating" them. I think it would be fun with kids, but I'm not sure it would be fun as an adult if you weren't riding with a kid.

Autotopia is worth it, much more scenic, and the cars are have smoother/quieter/less stinky engines.

Me and my DFi enjoy it! It was his first visit in Sept and he LOVED it. That being said we are from the City and don't drive (He doesn't even have a license) and I only drive a couple of times a month (I LOVE Driving). I guess you can see we are kids at hearts:crazy: So it's all what you make it:p
