What is the funniest thing you have heard at Whispering Canyon Cafe?

I ate breakfast there last month, first time at WCC, and the servers were really funny. As one party got up to leave, the server says "Don't worry about the mess you all. I'll take care of it!"

Several years ago while we were having dinner there, a young child at a table near us lost a tooth. At the same time their server was at the table. Their server very loudly asked for every ones attention and announced the lose of the tooth to the entire restaurant. Then without missing a breath he also said that they were on Disney property and that the Tooth Fairy did not have any rights to come onto Disney property so she would not be able to perform her traditional duty for the tooth. Then after a slight pause and before anyone could get upset that there would be no Tooth Fairy and no money for the lost tooth he announced that since it was Disney property, Tinker Bell would perform the Tooth Fairy's duties and that she paid $20 per tooth. As he finished, you could almost hear an audible gasp from every parent in the place and at the same time every child in the place started wiggling any tooth they thought would come out. Our, then, DS 7 spent the next few days before we left trying to get a tooth to come out.

I cant remember anything specific he said but Al was our server a couple weeks back and he was great...I knew what kinda place it was but the family including inlaws had no idea. It was such a blast :rotfl2: and I am glad I gave it a try....would go back in a heart beat. My teenaged boys loved the skillet, I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and smores cheesecake.

we ate there sat nite. our waitress wasnt into it all the way. i mean we saw the table a few over get the gigantic water and straws and the huge fork....we got out napkins and straws tossed at us....oh yeah and the ketchup thing too! lol

but the table next to us, a little girl was having a bday. they sang to her, brought her a cupcake, and then ate it on her!!!! lol luckily there was a spare behind our table/pillar. the girl didnt know what to think...i asked lovely lisa what happend if the kid cried. she said she would too!

lol..that would be Bridget, she's a riot. MT is also hysterical

The first time we were there DH asked where the bathroom was. Our server gave him directions to a tree outside! :lmao:

We went on my Sister-in-laws birthday. The waiter had her stand up and the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday to her. At the end of the song he held up a plate with a a piece of cake and candle. As soon as she blew out the candle, the waiter said "Thanks", took a big bite out the cake and walked off with it. It was hysterical and took everyone by suprise.

We were just at WC on Sunday night 4/18. It was by far my favorite restaurant on Disney property...the food was excellent..and the cast of people were fab!!

I was in the restroom when my husband and son were seated. So, when I arrived at the table, a server took my to multiple tables that "looked like they could use a mommy"..and then finally when at my table, another waiter embrassed me in a huge bear hug, and yelled Momma!!! Where have you been..we thought that you forgot your medication..and got lost again!!" It was hysterical!!:rotfl:

And, of course, everyone around us needed ketchup, someone got the big fork..we probably had 20 straws on our table (of 3) and everyone in the restaurant did the holey pokey.

Oh..and my son and another little boy across the aisle were having a gun battle with their souviners from Pirates of the C...and all of the waiters played along, they played dead, received war wounds..and were Awesome with the kids!!

It was a great experience!! And we will be back on onu next trip!!

I saw a table who, when replying to the question would like some more to drink said a little bit, get a tiny mason jar for their refill...

A phone rang at the table next to us. The server grabbed the phone and introduced the caller to the entire dining room.

I'm soooo excited to hear all this fun stuff. We are dinner there on the May 9 for my DS 6th birthday! We are going to have a cake derived to him there also!!

I'm glad to hear that they are still doing their fun antics. I read on another thread that they were going to stop, because of a complaint. We love this restaurant. We ate here in 2007 it was alot of fun. We have ADRs here for our upcoming trip in Aug. Glad to hear it is still fun....

They sent a teenage girl out in the lobby because she didn't eat her veggies and clean her plate. They put her in a chair in the middle of the lobby.

She had to tell everyone that was walking that she didn't clean her plate.....

I saw this happen the first time I ate at WC and got a kick out of it!

This sounds like so much fun. I have never been but I have a ressie for our upcoming trip. Cannot wait!!!!

We always book this place on our 1st night. The boys request it, but I like it just in case the boys are a little rammy/misbehaved after traveling all day, it won't matter too much!!!!!

I have this scheduled for lunch (1PMish), any chance we'll get to see any of these antics?

My teen son will die of embarrassment and my grandkids 6 & 8, will think this is the greatest place ever to eat-fun for all :rotfl:

Oh, parenting tips - what a bonus!! I should try that at home!

A couple of servers did that to my DH in October while we were celebrating his 40th birthday. He was speechless, and that NEVER happens! :lmao:

I made the mistake of asking for a little bit, too. They brought out a Mason jar salt shaker filled with Coke. (And of course, I asked for a refill!) One of the guys in our group got the HUGE Mason jar, and that was hilarious!
