Hi all,
For those who didnt know, Tomart is publishing its 'Disney guide to pin collecting' soon. I just preordered mine tonight from their site for $14.95 plus shipping. I wouldnt have even known about this but I saw several people trying to sell it for $25 online in a couple of places. It sounds like it is 64 pages with 3000 pins referenced. Their summer disneyana issue has a story on pin collecting also.
For those interested in getting their own, their site is Tomart.com.

Happy trading!
Paul

I saw the prototype copy of this magazine when I was on the Disney Cruise.

Looks pretty interesting.

The publisher of this guide (and Disneyana magazine) is Tom Tumbush. He was on the Dizpins cruise with us and I saw him at the pin event. He is a pin collector! Nice guy, too.

Not sure when it was released, but the copyright date is 2001, and we got ours around late August......I assume we're talking about the same issue, since the one I got for the kids has 64 pages as well......but I have heard talk of another edition being published at some point.

I might also add that the Tomart's Disneyana Update magazine also has pin release updates and info. beyond what's in the Guide to Pin Trading. I've found this publication at Barnes and Noble (in store, not online), but it's also available via subscription. Paul is right......their website has the info. you need to order this book now. Hope this helps...

I've emailed Tomart 2 times to ask them when I can expect to receive the magazine and they havent responded to either request. I ordered it on 8-14 and still havent seen it. I'm getting pretty frustrated with them.

......we had no trouble receiving our book....I placed the order by phone (937) 294-2250, on a Thursday, and it was mailed out the following Monday.....received by us within a week (late August).....have you tried calling them?

Christy

Yes, there are pictures, and very brief--and sometimes erroneous--descriptions. The book is not without errors. That said, it's still better than anything else I'm aware of on the market.

I got this book at the Augest pin event. It is nice.
